Methamphetamine Lol. Water, high protein meals (plant based or meat) and having lots of yummy slow and I mean slow digesting starchy carbs. Also mindfulness seems to help observing that your hungry but not acting on it, acknowledging if your overweight and hungry then you don’t actually have to eat that much.

Amphetamines can definitely help. I have an Rx for Adderall and weight loss is something the doc keeps track of. (I’m currently not taking it—quit about two months ago)

but I feel your pain about not being able to sleep on an empty stomach. Maybe try to eat more “nutrient dense” foods?

Change the way you think. Remember that though your stomach is empty 3-4 hours after a meal and is calling loudly for more food you're still digesting the last three meals you had. The last meal you had has just begun its trip through your small intestine. You're just starting to absorb it.

Point is there's no need to panic. No matter how sharp the hunger pangs there's plenty of food already in you. It's going to take your body a couple days to digest and crap it all out.

You eat three meals a day. Your fridge is full of food. Your cupboards are full of food. There are a dozen grocery stores in your town stocked to the gills with food. Twice as many restaurants serve up food all day long. There's never been a food emergency in your life and there's not going to be.

Learn to live with the pinch of hunger. When it gets intense drink some water so you have something in your stomach. If you absolutely have to munch on something to take the edge off make it an apple or orange or carrot.

If you've made a habit of pounding food, changing that habit is going to take work. The good news is most of that work is in your mind. Good luck.

Seems like I am always hungry, I need better control of what I eat. Worst time is at night, if I can't sleep all I wanna do is hit the kitchen and just eat. Help?

Man I know exactly what you are taking about. I try to eat my dinner by 5:30 pm. That gives me time for my food to digest before i am ready for bed by 7:30.

On those nights that I'm craving something to eat, whether sweet or otherwise it's a struggle. I keep a jar of peanut butter and a bottle of honey. I'll get a table spoonful of peanut butter (protein) and take my time eating it. If my appetite is for something sweet I'll get a table spoonful of honey.

It helps me curb my appetite and for the most part is healthy. You could give that a try and see if it helps you any. It's the sweet tea that I haven't been able to give up yet. And I never used to drink tea unless it was a cup of hot tea.

Also keep a variety of fresh fruit around for a quick snack. Good luck.

I try to fill up on high-fiber foods like apples and stuff if it's the end of the day. I'm lazy with getting food so I keep a bowl of fruit next to where I sit so I just reach for that instead of getting up to get something less healthy.

I've also had some success with drinking a big glass of water with a serving size of generic orange flavor Metamucil too. It's like drinking a big sweet-ish drink but kinda filling. As long as you don't have to wake to hit the bathroom. LOL.

i'm starting intermittent fasting. I sleep for 8 hours-ish so that's already 8 hours fasting. Did 12/12 that's 12 hours fasting (that's just stopping eating a little before bed and not starting eating until after I wake up) 12 eating. I used to think it would be too much for me since I nosh all day but it helps me to have a set time to stop eating. I plan for it, talk myself into it "one more hour for today and I'm done eating until morning".

Now up to 14 fasting 10 eating.

I fully understand. I drink water or tea. I never use sugar in my tea but do add a slice of ginger. Also chew on caraway seeds to reduce bloat and the chewing action seems to trick my stomach into submission! Good snack is cherry tomato’s or cucumber slices. It’s tough.

Agreed. I've lost 45 lbs over 18 months just re-thinking how I eat, and now it's second nature NOT to each half a pizza in a sitting.

Black coffee, plenty of water, and smaller portions. My body is now "trained" to eat less, and I no longer gorge myself.
