There are two basically accepted ways as along as you note how you measured.

Bone Pressed and Non Bone Pressed

So I could say:

BP 8x5.5
NBP 6.5x5.5

I just say I'm 7.5 and deal with the fact that while I'm pretty big compared to your average guy, I'm nothing around here
