This is very promising and not sure why it wasn't more widely reported.

Get this.

Sponges have the ability to make bacteria infections (not viruses) lose their acquired immunity to antibiotics. The sponges secrete an enzyme that causes the DNA in the bacteria to reset to a vulnerable state!

This enzyme works even aginst Pseudomonas and MRSA!

Ineffective antibiotics become lethal once again for bacteria treated with the sponge compound, chemist Peter Moeller reported February 13 at the American Association for the Advancement of Science annual meeting.

So far, the algeferin offshoot has, in the lab, successfully treated bacteria that cause whooping cough, ear infections, septicemia and food poisoning. The compound also works on Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which causes horrible infections in wounded soldiers, and MRSA infections, which wreak havoc in hospitals. “We have yet to find one that doesn’t work,” says Moeller. -Science News

Please read the rest at the link. This is very promising and could save the lives of millions.

The link's broken, Jason.

As someone who has had two hospitalizations in the last 18 months for MRSA infection, I'm interested in what it might say.
