I haven't seen any on the verge of self destruction, but it's probably like anything that starts niggling you, unless you find out about it it starts to seem more important.

The fact you are willing to hold such a huge grudge about it says a lot about how you cope with things. I dont care how much feelings people say foreskin has, every man i've seen be able to get an erection orgasms easier than most women i know.
Is the ability to ejaculate the measure of sexual pleasure for men? Most guys can still procreate, but that does not necessarily mean that they haven't experienced a loss of sexual sensation and function. The cultural practice of genital cutting depends on the notion that there is absolutely no difference between a man who has the penis he was born with and a man who has a surgically truncated penis. I agree that cut men don't know of a difference. This is why circ is so insidious. Unfortunately, this is not the same as saying there is no difference. You can still educate yourself about the difference - so when men now days say they are angry about genital cutting it is because it is easy to educate yourself. No parent with an internet connection can say they didn't know anything about it now days. That time is past. Any school age kid can google circumcision now. Anger is natural when you learn that someone cut off part of your sex organs for their own reasons at a time when you couldn't possibly have done anything about it. It's saying I know better than you do about your own body. Isn't that something that raises the hackles of the fairer sex? Kids grow up so fast now days. Anyone who thinks that they won't figure genital cutting out sooner rather than later now days is stupid.

i think anyone on the "Circ is always good" and the "Uncirc is always good" are insane in their beliefs.
Why? Routine Infant Circumcision (RIC) is always bad. Female genital cutting is always bad. Why is that insane? As a consenting adult do whatever you want with your vagina if you can find someone to do it. You can't do this stuff on the kitchen table. Doctors legitimize and legalize this whack-a-mohel stuff.

Yeah try convincing my parents that argument. They'd just laugh at you.

Also, i've considered this god awful genital mutilation to be able to have more sensitivity. Orgasm usually is a good thing, there are plenty of women who cant or who struggle immensely with it. Viagra helps men get erections so they can orgasm, they ultimately are wanting an orgasm arent they? What choice do women have if they arent able to get their hood removed if its adhered or blocks their sensitivity? Talking about circumcision and being entirely unware of how many wish they could orgasm and making it sound like foreskin ruins your ability to enjoy pleasure while there is no measure of how much pleasure it ruins. Comparing men who had adult circumcision to infants who had it is not a true way to compare. As men who have had their foreskin removed before sexual development have enjoyed years of masturbation and sex without any regrets or complications. Men who have had to have their foreskins removed because of problems have to relearn how to feel pleasure because things are changed in that area.

Removal of the foreskin is not the same fucking thing as removing the nerves that are required to have orgasm. You people need to quit comparing the two as the same results. When people remove the entire head of the penis where orgasm is impossible, then you can compare your foreskin to a clitoridectomy.

Circumsicion in general is not always bad. Explain that to men who have had horrible problems with their foreskin and had to have it removed, they were thankful the prodecure was available and not illegal.

Remember Bedhead, you live in a circumcising culture. Amputation and increased pleasure go together? Yeah, like crack and whack. While I think adults who have elective surgery on their genitals are stupid and misled by the "medical profession" (I put quotes because this is not medicine), we are talking about doing it to infants.

Wow, you'll never get me to jump on that bandwagon. You guys are all the same. I know many men who are completely comfortable not having foreskin and there is a huge population of males who have premature ejaculation issues because of sensitivity and they are circumsized. Its all relative. While i dont agree with the practice of automatically circumsizing infants. I think your stupid to think that foreskin and clitoral hoods cant have problems that only removal can fix. And saying the cutting any part of the body off shouldnt be done by medical professionals at all because you dont consider it medicine is crazy.

Its all or nothing with your crowd, never any options for adults who are having problems and are looking at ways to actually enjoy life.

A small *possible* decrease in pleasure that wouldnt affect your ability to achieve orgasm makes some of you so upset youre ready to risk losing friendships and relationships in your real life over it. Its kind of strange to me. Its more than strange.

I have never compared ablation of the clitoris and ablation of the foreskin. I have compared ablation of the clitoral hood to ablation of the foreskin because the two are analogous.

Clitoridectomy is stupid and destructive, but like male genital cutting, female genital cutting does not make sexual intercourse and procreation impossible. Only women who have been clitoridectomized can say whether or not female genital cutting makes orgasm impossible.

You have some sort of sexual dysfunction and you think that partial genital amputation will help. Since you think it will help maybe it will. The placebo effect and the power of suggestion are well known in psychiatry and psychology. Step up and have the cut. Then we can talk.

Meanwhile, what does this have to do with the unconscionable practice of RIC in the U.S.?

foreskin removal doesnt necessarily cause the lack of sexual enjoyment.

roughly only 15% of women can orgasm without stimulation of the clitoris. I think that means roughly 85% of women need their clitoris to orgasm. How many men need their foreskin to orgasm?

And most men do find orgasm to be the results of their sexual enjoyment. I dont agree with circumcision being routine. I do agree it does have its place. You might not agree to any cutting of the genitals to be necessary. Tell that to a man who doesnt want his foreskin anymore, an anorgasmic clitoris due to lack of sensitivity, an adhered hood, a woman with labia so large it causes problems for her. The genitals are just like any other part of the human body and are prone to complications that surgery can help.

I had a urethral dilitation and meatotomy and some tissue lasered off at the opening of my uretha that was causing problems, all this at 17 years old. It helped with some problems i was having. This would be considered surgery on the genitals and never necessary to solve anything in your mind. Would you also consider a c-section or episiotomy in the "useless" procedure category?

Typical American, thinking that surgery can solve everything. Now you are getting into childbirth. One thing I do know is that most women are capable of natural childbirth, but that is rarely allowed by the medical industry any more.

Hmm. I had the same thing you did when I was fifteen to correct meatal stenosis (ulceration of the urinary opening), a universal complication of having one's urethral meatus exposed to diaper contents and abrasion in underclothing. Lacking a foreskin, this made me even more uncomfortable because my urinary opening was enlarged and even more exposed.

Do what you want to your genitals, keeping in mind that your results may vary. Meanwhile please leave babies out of it.

Theres a lot of docs who believe the way you do. I wish my Obstetrician wouldnt have been one of them. I have a vagina that couldnt pass a baby but to keep from being scalpel-crazy my doctor made me go through sheer hell for days before finally giving me the c-section i should have had scheduled already. I have a child with disabilities that we'll never know if that was the cause of. While vaginas are capable of passing babies of all sizes, not every vagina can. Nature doesnt always go as intended.

Sometimes our bodies dont form the way they were supposed to. Surgery is a wonderful modern technology that has saved my life and the life of my daughter. We would have died in childbirth.

While i dont think you think that all c-sections are unnecessary, i do believe its the kind of thinking that everything should be left natural that has caused me more than just physical pain because my doctors had the same ideas.

I guess its a good thing there are docs who think the way you do so you can go to them. I on the other hand run as far away from them as possible. Just like those people who think all types of vaccines and antidepressants, epidurals in labor, and Ritalin are bad.

Recently the fact that I was circumcised has really started to bother me again. I've tried to shove it to the back of my head time and time again but it keeps surfacing with the same questions.

I know there is no way that I can get a foreskin back, so thats not my hangup, I just want to know why they decided to do it etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could ask them questions such as:

Why did you choose to have me circumcised?
What do you remember about the day it was done?
Where did the procedure take place?
What was the doctor's name who did it?
Were they male or female?
Do you know what method they used?
Do you know what they did with my foreskin once it was removed?

I really wish I could get my hands on the medical records from it, but my guess is that they have long sense been destroyed as I am now 23 almost 24 and I've heard that hospitals only keep them on record for 7 years.

Any help or ideas anyone can provide are greatly appreciated!!

I don't know if my parents would know the answer as to why you were circumcised. I'll ask and get back to you. Hahaha

On a serious note, I think you should just be direct and ask why did they circumcise you. Chances are it will be some religious reason, or (and I've heard this from my Aunt whom just had a baby) circumcised dicks just looks nicer. It could also be that because your father is circumcised he decided his son will be. I think being direct is the best way to. Good luck with that and whatever you decide be sure to report back to us.

Oh really. Are they the same ones who study eight years and are in residency for five years so they can legally cut normal healthy parts of babies' genitalia off?

If you are trying to make it sound like it would ever be difficult to get a cesarean section in the U.S., here's some hard stats for you. Nationally c-section births are one in three or four. A nurse midwife told me last week that my state is the lowest in the nation at 15%. That's still one in six or seven.

What does anything you said have to do with RIC?

After reading BedheadReds reply's.I don't think she understands the difference between ejaculation and orgasm for a man.I ejaculate every time and that feels nice like taking a piss when your eyeballs are floating. But to orgasm for me,it's like an explosion everything is on fire I can't walk and my whole body shakes for minutes after.Sadly orgasms are a rare thing for me.Women need to go back to school.

If you are unhappy about being circumcised go and start restoration procedures and start getting it back. If you aren't happy about it you yourself can go and sort it.

Why question your parents about it? What good is that going to do? Do you want to persecute them? Blame them? Make them feel like shit? They only did what they felt was best. Do you want to punish them? Think about it. They are your parents and they love you
