Typical American, thinking that surgery can solve everything. Now you are getting into childbirth. One thing I do know is that most women are capable of natural childbirth, but that is rarely allowed by the medical industry any more.
Hmm. I had the same thing you did when I was fifteen to correct meatal stenosis (ulceration of the urinary opening), a universal complication of having one's urethral meatus exposed to diaper contents and abrasion in underclothing. Lacking a foreskin, this made me even more uncomfortable because my urinary opening was enlarged and even more exposed.
Do what you want to your genitals, keeping in mind that your results may vary. Meanwhile please leave babies out of it.
Theres a lot of docs who believe the way you do. I wish my Obstetrician wouldnt have been one of them. I have a vagina that couldnt pass a baby but to keep from being scalpel-crazy my doctor made me go through sheer hell for days before finally giving me the c-section i should have had scheduled already. I have a child with disabilities that we'll never know if that was the cause of. While vaginas are capable of passing babies of all sizes, not every vagina can. Nature doesnt always go as intended.
Sometimes our bodies dont form the way they were supposed to. Surgery is a wonderful modern technology that has saved my life and the life of my daughter. We would have died in childbirth.
While i dont think you think that all c-sections are unnecessary, i do believe its the kind of thinking that everything should be left natural that has caused me more than just physical pain because my doctors had the same ideas.
I guess its a good thing there are docs who think the way you do so you can go to them. I on the other hand run as far away from them as possible. Just like those people who think all types of vaccines and antidepressants, epidurals in labor, and Ritalin are bad.
