I'm not often ill, I've got a cold at the moment and I'm convinced I'll be dead before the morning, I can't sleep, my head's bunged up, I'm hacking away like a seal, and my head's hurting.

How wimpy are you when you're poorly, do you get on with things and not let it get in your way or do you take to your bed like some modern day Lady of the Camellias and demand everyone wait on you hand and foot?

I have so much to do that when I get sick I can't stop or whine. (I keep going and going and going)

My preference when I'm ill is to lie on the sofa with a throw over me being melodramatic :)

lol...well, i can handle fevers and headaches, but when there's something to do with my nose (runny or stuffed-up) i'm basically done for. i can't even go to school because God knows i wouldn't be able to focus. Plus, tread lightly around me if i'm sick...because i get really irritable. i'm a nice guy, but screw with me when sick and i will fuck you up. :p

I'm pretty wimpy for the most part. I admit it. If I don't feel at my best I don't want to be out in the world because I'm less than I think I should be.

Now my uncle.... very different. He just broke his ankle and has been walking on it for TWO DAYS and he's a farmer! Up at 4 am, in bed by 10pm. Did I mention he's 71? The doctor tried to pull him in to the office to reset it but he refused as he had to feed the calves. He's going in tomorrow to have it done. Unreal.

I'm a hardass when i'm sick. Hate staying in bed. I'll go to work, to the gym, grocery shopping, whatever. Only time I stay home is when it's bad enough to make me dizzy. Or if I'm really disgusting looking lol. Nobody wants to see that

I'm very self-reliant, independent, have an extremely high pain threshold, and am not a complainer.

I have a condition in my back which can fatigue me greatly, the treatment of which also reduces my immune system and makes me much more open to infections - I get 'man-flu' all the time, but now it's actually fairly legitimate. :frown1:

I usually get sick quite often, I have a pretty low immune system and it drives me mad. I'll catch anything from anyone. I live at home and tend to milk it for all it's worth... Sometimes I really am sick though.. and I just lay around like I'm waiting for death.

I'm not at all wimpy. I've had a cold for about a month that doesn't seem to want to go away. But I still go to school and go to the bar and whatnot. It doesn't really bother me.

I usually try and just work through it. I couple of years ago I had a bad bout of bronchitis. I went to work every day. Some days I came home a bit early but I still went every day. I got home from work each day and went straight to bed.

I really hate having a coldand prefer to take Nyquil and take to my bed. Also, abdominal pain upsets me because I have a history of an intestinal obstruction and any pain there gets me wondering if it's happening again. On the other hand, I ruptured a bicep tendon and failed to notice.

Your uncle sounds like my dad! He's broken his ribs before and just kept on working. And yes, he was a farmer too. He now finally has slowed down a bit due to emphysema, heart trouble and other health problems, but he still does a lot of work when he can.

Me? Well, I'm more of a wimp! :biggrin1:

I don't think I am wimpy because I won't lay in bed or let it disrupt my life. I am a miserable person to be around however. Usually I am pretty laid back and easy to get along with, but if I am ill, I can become the devils spawn in a second...my friends have learned to leave me alone!

I'm a classic wimp. When I'm ill I take to my bed and expect to be waited on hand and foot.

I'm with you, Ryan. The only exception so far was a kidney stone but a shot of dilaudid at the E.R. helped.
