So I had family over with my mom's new guy.

He was playing with my dog and said "Boy (Dogs name) you look good. You must walk yourself as it's obvious your owner doesnt."

How would you interpret that message?

I would interpret it as him saying you weren't in 'fit' enough shape for his taste. Why that MATTERS to him, is beyond me. Why should he care? He was being an asshole.

He probably likes jacking off in the mirror more than having sex with women.

What a jerk.

I don't think that was doublespeak for "I think you are hot!" I think he was ragging on you about the upkeep and care of your dog! Ding Dong and a thump to the head of COCHRANFAN4LIFE. LOL!

I think he's saying that you need to exercise more and/or lose weight. I use to get asshole comments like that from my mom's boyfriends when I was younger and on the heavy side. My stepfather used to rag on me about my weight constantly when I was younger. When I got older I became fit and he got fat. I sure enjoyed rubbing his face in it once the tables had turned. The asshole died a violent death by his own hand a couple of years ago, and I don't miss him one bit. My relationship with my mother has improved 100% since he died. He was always causing fights between my mom and I when he was alive.

He was insulting your physique, while complementing your dogs'. :wtf2: IMO He's an ignorant jackass; not good enough to eat at your table or date your mom.

Ditto

He was being rude.
If he says anything more tell him you don't appreciate his rude comments.
That's good advice. What kind of putz thinks the way to a woman heart is to insult her son? :12:

I havent said anything to my sis or mom... Should I?

You know, I think you'd be doing your mom a favor if you did. Maybe pose the question to her exactly the way you did with us? Tell her it hurt your feelings.

If you don't want an apology from him because you think it won't be heartfelt or sincere, you can tell her that, too. Tell her you just wanted her to know what he was like when she wasn't around....
