Fact is, the guys on the show in the pics were smiling and having fun, and they VOLUNTEERED to do it, KNOWING that they'd be made fun of. The examples you gave are hardly similar.

I think it was actually kind of healthy because instead of feeling bad about being small they were willing to show their junk off and get made fun of and in the end shrug it off and not feel bad about it.

A friend of mine entered a "Mr. Puniverse" competition back in college. This guy was scrawny, pale, no muscles. But he got on stage with girls hollering and an announcer making fun of him and did poses and stuff. When he was done (didn't win sadly) I could tell that he felt a lot better about himself. Sometimes when we face what we think are our limitations we realize that they're not really that big a deal.
