Thanks to Jason_Els, you can click on the following link and read the draft legislation HR3200 America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 -- Introduced to the House for your self. If link doesn't work, just cut and paste it in your browser.

HR 3200: America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009
    http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.3200:

This is the draft for the Health Care Bill. Notice that it is a draft. It takes a great deal of wheeling, rewriting, and dealing to make an original proposal to become the final bill. It is my hope that everyone will go through it and see for his and her self that it does not in any way propose the end of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and the American Way.

Sure, it's over a 1,000 pages, but how long was the last Harry Potter novel you read? It may not be as riveting, but it's what it is, not what naysayers and tribal neocons want you to believe it is. And despite the length, it is very easy to read -- if you know how to read.

Thank you Jason_Els, I raise my petard in your honor!

For the rest of you: enjoy!

    Alert the Usage Police!

You might want to look up "hoist with his own petard" for a complete understanding of the phrase.

Salvaging the metaphorosphere, one misuse at a time!

Thanks, Channelwood, I'm familiar and even knowledgeable regarding the quote "hoist with his own petard." But I'm not above bending the rules for my own silly needs. And along that same train of thought, if you need something to sit on guess what I might suggest. :biggrin1: Many people enjoy the sensation of fireworks up their asses. If you're not one of them (or German) (or Hamlet) then no big woop.

Silliness is a good thing, too, as digesting this draft bill would give anyone gastrointestinal distress. Petar, indeed. :biggrin1:

    SHOCK UNCOVERED:

Obama IN HIS OWN WORDS admitting his Health Care Plan will ELIMINATE private insurance
Do you believe them then...or do you believe them now?
Then: OBAMA AND THE DEMOCRATS HEATH CARE GOAL IS A PUBLIC OPTION THAT WILL ULTIMATELY ELIMINATE PRIVATE EMPLOYER PROVIDED INSURANCE
(Obama S.E.I.U. forum on health care 3/24/07, Barney Frank, Jan Schakowsky all admitting a public option will put the private insurance industry out of business)

Now: They claim no, no, that's misinformation.

There are actually 5 bills circulating. The question, which is the one that will be voted on?

Shocked? No. If the Insurance companies refuse to deliver a better product they deserve to see their end. I have no problems with a President keeping a campaign promise, which is healthcare reform.

Medicare is a sigle payer system. Ask the elderly how much they like it. THEY LOVE IT. G'Obama!

Yep...they don't mind "government run insurance" there, do they?

And here's another heads up. Under the current system, by the time you're old enough to be eligible, won't be a plugged nickle left.

More than 80% of the American People are happy with their current health insurance. To those people that video is shocking.

And it clearly explains why the majority of people don't support Obama's lack of a bill/Democrats crap of bills in the House.

This isn't people lying on them or spreading misinformation...its them telling on themselves.

Well, to quote the great, late Divine: "There are two kinds of people in this world: 1. My kind of people and 2. Assholes!" Guess which category the He/She/and holy It fits best.

And we can all take comfort in the fact the the He/She/and Holy It hasn't even bothered to read HR3200 with an open mind. Some folks are just emotionally crippled that way.

Since you didn't understand it the first time let me repeat it. Over 80% of Americans are happy with their health insurance. They don't want anything to happen to private insurance. They don't want to lose access to their doctor. They don't want to go under a government plan.

Obama and the Democrats have been claiming misinformation by the GOP or HealthCare Reform Opponents but They themselves told what their objectives were in their own words...to phase out and end Private Insurance in favor of a Government Run Plan.

The Majority of Americans don't want it and they aren't supporting it. It has nothing to do with opening ones mind. It has to do with being smart enough not to be Fooled, hoodwinked and bamboozeled.

How does Obama and the Democrats clearly stating that they want to phase out and end Private Insurance and then claiming that is not their objective and accusing others of misinformation make ME Marie Antoinette?

To a majority of Americans livid in this healthcare debate, Obama and the Democrats are throwing cake at the 80% who don't want their health care to change or diminish, don't want their taxes to go up and don't want their children to be burdened with massive national debts and deficits that are unsustainable. The plan Obama is pushing will increase the decificit according to the CBO.

There have been many suggestions for getting the uninsured healthcare. First we need to agree on who is uninsured. It is much less than the 50 million and 47 million floated around. One idea was rooting out the mismanagement, fraud and waste in the medicaid and medicare and then expanding it and adding the uninsured to the new cost effective plan.
Also increasing the number of doctors, nurses, medical staff and hospitals to accomodate the new uninsured.

Then we also need to fix private insurance where it isn't working and is too costly (Like your situation...which I am completely sympathetic to.) Many suggestions of opening up insurance across state lines. Tort reform. Incentives and rewards based on quality of care. Legislating that insurers cannot use preconditions to deny coverage. All the cost reduction measures proposed in the Drug Industry, Hospital Industry, Medical Associations (Doctors and Nurses), Insurance Industry with the public option, can still be taken without the public option.

Wrong. Every independent estimate does not say the public option will save us money. But we aren't just talking about he public option but Obama's and the Dems whole plan in HR3200.

The press release from the Gavel supposedly citing CBO numbers is countered below. Review the links and you will find that the CBO numbers do not support that:

    National Review
Now that we have that cleared up and we know that the ObamaCare HR 3200 will increase the deficit, we can get back to the real cake throwers.

Obama and the Democrats actually said that they want to phase out and end Private Insurance which over 80% of Americans don't want to happen. To add insult to injury, Obama and the Dems claim people are spreading misinformation. How can anyone trust Obama and the Democrats with their healthcare?

Free health care for everyone is the right way forward. I think a lot of people high up are opposed because they won't make as much money privately out of it.

Yes, thanks for the link.... but... isn't that what we elect our officials for???!!! To actually read these bills?! Call me kooky, but they have the plushest gigs, phat staffs and so forth... and ... nevermind.

Regardless, let's say it's THIS bill that gets passed. What you read today, and what happens to it in the 11th hour w/out being able to vet it out is frightening.

This is NEVER going to happen as is.
