I'm almost stunned that no one has posted anything on this before, but it was kind-of one of those 'wait, did I just see what I thought I saw?' moments. I was watching an episode of the Andy Griffith show (I have the entire series DVD collection) (don't judge), and couldn't believe that I'd never caught this before, and neither had anyone else, apparently, including the censors! Here are the particulars--
Season 5, episode 9, titled "Opie's Fortune". At 17 minutes, 15 seconds into the episode, 'Parnell Rigsby', played by an actor named Jon Lormer, enters the sheriff's office. Prepare yourself, because what he's showing running down the inside of the right leg of those blue jeans is HUGE! I kid you not, it's jaw-dropping. The censors must have been stone blind not to see that massive bulge! And what's funnier, the dialogue in the scene has to do with Opie's new 'rod' (a fishing rod, of course), and Mr. Rigsby's exit line is "I hope you land a whopper!". (Obviously, Mr. Lormer brought his own whopper with him!) And about a minute and a half later, there's a quick shot of him getting out of his truck that shows his packed basket again, so the first shots were no pants-malfunction fluke!
I don't have the tech-savvy to post screenshots, but if anyone wants to chime in on this, welcome!
