This is.... by far.... The most accurate description of hypnosis I could find:

What Does a Hypnosis Session Feel Like?
[SIZE=+1]
  • Hypnosis is a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Remember that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, and the hypnotist needs your cooperation to help you achieve a successful hypnotic state.
The hypnotist simply guides you into that state - it is your cooperation that makes hypnosis work. Do not expect to go to sleep or lose touch with reality. You are fully aware, and you will know everything that is going on around you.
People who are about to be hypnotized for the first time often wonder what it’s like – will it really work, and how can they be sure that it worked? What does hypnosis feel like? Although the experience is different for every individual, one thing I can say for sure is that hypnosis feels like being very, very relaxed.
In fact, some of my clients come to see me especially for the relaxation and stress relief that these sessions always bring.
Other sensations you might experience include some of the following. You might find that you’ll have a feeling of numbness, or a perhaps a tingling feeling in your hands or feet, or arms or legs, and these are perfectly normal and natural responses to hypnosis. Some people, as they relax so deeply, find that they may feel very heavy, like you’re sinking right down into the chair, or perhaps you’ll feel more light, as if you were about to be floating above the chair on your own little cloud. Either way, these also are normal and natural responses to hypnotism.
You might even feel a bit disconnected from your body. As if you were not connected to your arms or legs perhaps, or at least as if you are not aware of them even though you’re sure that they are fine. While you're so relaxed you might notice that your eyelids will flicker or flutter a little bit, or your eyes might move back and forth as though you’re watching a dream. Again, this is just a natural and normal response.
Sometimes while you’re in hypnosis, you may have an extra need to swallow occasionally, and that’s perfectly OK. And while you’re so relaxed, you may find that you'll hear every word that I say, or maybe you'll notice the sounds outside, or you may find that actually you almost forget to hear my words and you let your mind wander off to pleasant thoughts and pleasant daydreams, letting your imagination bring you pleasant sights or sounds or experiences. Either way is fine. Whether you hear my words or not, your subconscious mind is listening and will accept everything that is beneficial to you.
While in hypnosis, you may find that you aren’t sure if you’ve been relaxing for a very long time or for a few brief moments. It seems that it really doesn’t matter … and again, either way is fine for you.
The important thing is … that if you experience any or all of the things I’ve mentioned, or maybe even some of your own special sensations of hypnosis … however you experience hypnosis is right for you, and you'll find it an enjoyable and welcome experience.
Once in a while, on coming out of hypnosis a client might express disappointment with the experience. They insist that they have heard everything that was going on, and that they did not go to sleep. This comes from misconceptions about what hypnosis is. . The amnesia and lack of consciousness that they may have anticipated are not experienced by the vast majority of people. Nevertheless, although an individual may consciously believe that their trance was extremely light, or that they had not been hypnotically affected, the suggestions which have been given to them will in most cases exercise influence. Unless of course the person deliberately sets out to prove that the suggestions will not work, in which case, there is no way that the person will go into trance.
Those who insist that they have only experienced a light trance, or no trance at all, should realize that it is perfectly normal to hear external noises and to maintain rapport with the hypnotist, and to remember everything that occurs during the session. In other words, on coming out of hypnosis you may feel no differently than you did before being hypnotized, but the effects will be there.

  • To quote the June 1977 issue of "Psychology Today":
    • "People who are hypnotized for the first time are frequently disappointed to find that they experience nothing overwhelming. They feel mildly relaxed but they remain in touch with reality and in control of their thoughts. They may discover that the hypnotist's suggestions are quite resistible. Contrary to what most people believe, a person under hypnosis need not fall asleep, or lose contact with his surroundings, or relinquish his will. He is often able to recall everything that happened during the trance and will act perfectly normal."

I think it would be great fun in the company of friends that would allow no real harm to be done.

I would enjoy submitting to it, the more embarrassing the better.

OK, but how does it play in as a fetish? What is the sexual purpose of it?

I don't think the purpose necessarily has to have some direct sexual application. It'd probably be best to think of it like bdsm, varying levels of fetishistic control being given or taken.

Some people find the idea of obeying commands and being totally devoted arousing, I don't get it, but that's what I understand. Power and control fantasies on the other hand are totally obvious.

PS.

The sexual purpose of fetishes...lol. I'm not sure fetishes need to do anything more than provide context and mental stimulus. And if that's not the case, I need someone to explain how shoe/heel fetishes work.

I have tried being hypnotized buy a few different men. Not really sure if it has worked on me or not. I am the ultimate skeptic, but I have tried to keep an open mind. Every time I do it the same thing happens. About 10 minutes in a start to feel like I could be sick to my stomach. Anyone else experience this? The idea of being "under" really does turn me on. But with this constant side effect it make it difficult. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to why this is happening or how it could be prevented?

This is actually a pretty popular by fetish with FemDom's. FemDom's like Bratty Bunny, Miss Minxie, and others have clips where thet hypnotize men to only masturbate to them, or even only get erections for them.....it's all pretty hot stuff. Clips4Less.com has a lot of these....

I actually prefer the more complete sort of mind control. Like mental reprogramming/possession. That sort of thing, seems to be almost nothing of the sort however =(

I have an old friend and regular play partner with whom I've been exploring kinky stuff more and more over the past couple of years. Recently he's been making jokes about having planned and patiently orchestrated this through mind control. lol

I just ran into a variation, but I can't assume success.... it only works if you want it to. Cheers.

I had interesting experiencing with the two texts. I was anticipating, if it were to work, that the reaction would be strong and I would feel compelled to behave in precisely the way suggested to the same degree. That didn't happen, but what did happen makes me wonder. It's more like a subtle hinting thought was planted in my mind.

In the case of the first I certainly didn't laugh but I did smirk for no apparent reason (there wasn't anything funny about it).

My response to the second text was interesting. I certainly didn't leap up to do the situps. I sort of had an internal conversation in my mind about it. Part of me was inclined to do the situps. Another part was dismissing the idea and saying I was just being silly, nothing had actually happened. But the thought of doing the situps kept nagging at me so eventually I gave in and did them.
