I need some help. My penis is normally 11x8, 11 inches long and 8 inches in girth. I recently this past year have developed Hypogonadism due to about 7-8 years of Anti-Anxiety/Depressant/Psychotic medication (Medications: Klonopin past 2 years, and Respidone for 2 years before that), as well as Vitamin B12 Deficiency and being overweight. All of these things caused me low testosterone to the point where my penis has shrunk several inches in length and seems like it's halved in it's girth, but I'm 25, I just need the right kind of natural remedy shouldn't need any testosterone kind of thing. I have penis numbness and can't always feel feeling when I ejaculate, it's a man's worse nightmare!

It's been going on for a year and a half, I finally stopped taking the medication, Klonopin. And it's been a month or so, and still it seems like it won't get out of my system and my testosterone won't come back because of it. Is there anything I can do to get this stuff out of my system and other stuff I can do to get my penis back to normal. I'm 25 years old so I don't need any testosterone, I just need to get this stuff out of my system and maybe eat certain vitamins or foods to help my testosterone come back. Any advice?

For a start, you could try looking at herbal remedies to replace your chemical meds, for example:

Tea For Depression

Then look into fasting or juice fasting to detox and eliminate the meds and allow your body to return to normal. P.S. You experience euphoria after several days of juice fasting.

Then you may want to try meditation and learn to remove all thoughts from your head, it can help you view your life from a different perspective and the problems that bother you may seem insignificant.

How to Meditate - Yoga - Meditation - YouTube

There is an asian herb called Tongkat ali that has been known to stimulate testosterone naturally however it needs to be cycled and can have negative effects (like roid rage) if used incorrectly.

Tongkat Ali Side Effects | Tongkat Ali Power | Tongkat Ali Dosage

Those meds that you take are designed to treat symptoms rather than cure your depression, nature offers many real cures, it's worth trying.

I found L-Argentine helped with side =effects of my anti-depressants. Twice a day. 500mg - 1000mg each time.

Meditation as mentioned above helps a lot with the depression and taming the cycles of my mind. Try reading: "Full Catastrophe Living: Using the Wisdom of Your Body and Mind to Face Stress, Pain, and Illness"

Try not to worry about it too much. In my long struggle with depression when in a bad spot I have found that eventually things (all of them) get better.

You mentioned overweight and slight numbness in the tip of the penis. That rings my alarm bell to check for diabetes or pre-diabetes. Diabetes neuropathy will affect sensation in the penis and also adversely affects blood flow to all extremities. I could imagine that its effects would be more pronounced in a penis of that immense size. I hope you are not discontinuing the anti-psychotic medication without the involvement of your psychiatrist and/or endocrinologist. One other point: Low T and emotional disturbance can both be related to brain tumor (not necessarily malignant btw). Have this all checked out by medical professionals if you haven't already. Once you're clear, then you can address the low T with natural remedies if you wish. I'm not a doctor so take this as my 2 cents worth.

Is there any evidence that klonopin causes hypogonadism? If a medication caused it, I would say it was risperidone as it blocks the function of dopamine which is necessary to keep prolactin levels in check and maintain sexual desire. Also, the poster above pointed out some symptoms of diabetes which can also be caused by risperidone. Have your prolactin checked. Dopamine antagonists such as risperidone can have damaging effects on dopamine receptors long after you've stopped. Klonopin is very unlikely to have caused this since it mainly affects GABA with a very slight affect on serotonin and it would definitely be out of your system by now with few side effects except maybe some rebound anxiety.

You should see a professional.

It sounds like you have more going on than is reasonable to ask for help on the internet. I'm all for natural remedies, but even with that you'll want to see a professional (nutritionist, naturopath) who can evaluate your history, examine your diet, and assess other issues.

i think the main problem here is the anti-psychotics (risperidone)

i have taken antipsychotics in the past and found the side effects unbearable. i have also taken clonazepam and other similar drugs, which cause drowsiness and sedation but that's about it (over the long term it caused loss of sensation and reduced libido but its a very powerful sedative so it's expected).

but antipsychotics can cause profound metabolic and hormonal changes, and in some cases, elevated prolactin levels, which can lead to hypogonadism. talk to your doctor and ask if you can switch to something else. antipsychotics are being over-prescribed (in my opinion) and unless you're schizophrenic, there are other, better treatments available

Smooth, even if it's not true does it make a difference? He's not looking for attention about his dick, he's asking for help. Not just for his dick but his overall health

I'll throw my vote in with the pile of people saying you should see your doctor before changing anything, and especially before altering your medication intake, or consuming anything that may interact with it to prevent it from working. If they're not helpful, like another poster said- new docs.

Also, about the fasting- I've never seen it really recommended for long periods of time, a few days would clean you out if you really want to try. If you're not feeling well, I'd be more concerned with starting to eat well and healthy than with stopping eating.

I'm not sure of the rules on linking things here, but a simple google search will give you plenty of ways to increase your testosterone naturally, after talking with your doc. Eating healthy and properly is the first step, as your body needs the building blocks. Get a good sleep, 7-9 hours is ideal. Not more than that, or you'll feel sluggish.

And of course, working out- that'll maybe help with the weight, and will get your body producing more testosterone. If you're not already doing these things, you probaby should be- not just for your dick, but for your overall health

I'm curious though, the shrinking in size- do you still get just as hard now, as you did before?

I have a feeling most of the guys talking above have never had serious clinical depression. If you were suicidal I highly recommend that you discuss this with your psychiatrist. Your life is more important than this issue. I have taken anti- depressants for about 8 years now I have never heard of anti-depressants causing low testosterone. But depression can wreck your sex life.
