There is no one single rule on this and in a sense even discussing this tries to label something no matter how hard we try to avoid that situation.
In some cases bisexuality is a transitional phase and in others it is not.
There was a time in my life that I too always tried to be politically correct. The problem is that doing that at times creates exactly what we again were trying to avoid.
Decades ago long before I was hitched I played on both sides of the fence and the key for me was not necessarily gender but instead opportunity. If it was presented and available to me I really did not care either way. In fact based on my age I had some opportunities at some rather indecent parties in the 1970's to be doing both at the same time.
I am happily partnered and have been for a very long time. I would still say however that even now if I were single that everything would be based on attraction and opportunity and not on the gender.
Personally I cannot understand why this would be subject to critique by anyone. To me it comes down I think a little more to what I would call "hypersexual" at least in my case rather than homosexual, heterosexual or bisexual.
