Thanks, with a recommendation like that, I'll have to check it out. I think I originally avoided it because it looked so darned, well, wholesome or something, but I felt that way about American Beauty from the previews too. I frequently choose movies by the actors or directors. Some actors I like seem to appear together from time to time, which is always nice. I like a well-chosen offbeat script and there are several actors who seem to be drawn to those more than just big box office hits. I rarely agree with critics!

Pay it Foward is a lot more wholesome in contrast with American Beauty, however the story is very powerful and I don't know anyone that has seen it and not wept *L*
I'm the same way .. I've my favorite actors and actresses and I tend to stick to them. I generally tend to think the exact opposite of what critics think, and usually depend upon close friends as my best critics to reference.
