I was looking at this picture and think it's a good way to explain the 'he looked twice as big as a 6" dick therefore it was a footlong' sort of thinking. It's really a trick we use to fool ourselves, and is especially easy to fall for when comparing human beings.

Wow massive, maybe the biggest I've ever seen. Looks about 3 handspans long. Average man's handspan is about 3.5", so that would be around 10.5". Absolutely enormous and my estimate could be off.

Biggest issue with it is that we don't really have anything other than his own body to give a sense of scale.
