The point is, you go where the gays are, you will get attention. Gays are men, and men are more aggressive.

Wise words.

It's especially true if you have big muscles (I don't :/) or a big cock/bulge (I do :D), because guys are a lot more likely to comment and pursue based on those factors alone.

Well I don't know what your face looks like - but if it even comes close to your body and cock - anybody and everybody should be hitting on you.

ok, thats pretty damn funny

but for the OP, I can't really say, I'd say its likely something you've just got to deal with... you could try asking your close friends why they get the gay vibe might be a good place to start.

I did yesterday. My friend told me its not so much a gay vibe as it is I seem like one of the str8 boys that would be easier to "twist"...whatever that means. Might be because I seem comfortable around gay people, more so than a lot of my friends who seemed to get nervous whenever a gay guy comes within a few feet. Never been one to discriminate, personally.

Some of the behavior you describe may not really constitute hitting on you. For example, you mentioned that male friends who you feel pretty certain are totally (or mostly) straight touch you more than they touch other guys. I have this suspicion that you are probably beautiful and people like to touch things that are beautiful, sculpure or art glass, for example. I have known straight friends who will comment to me about a man being stunning or beautiful when they probably would not do so to most of their straight friends. My point being that men who are straight can appreciate beauty in a man and that may be part of what you are experiencing. Add to that what seems to be a very open and kind personality, they may feel more at ease with you.

I know you say you're 99pct straight, but come on, a guy who's a member of LPSG and posts his cock on the web is very likely NOT 99pct gay. My guess is that something in that, er, "1 percent" of yours is sending out some pretty serious gaydar.

But maybe these people are at least partly right... about both of us.

Good luck.

As I read this thread I think that swimersox may be on to something here. Let me guess that good looking but completely straight guys don't even notice that other guys are checking them out, if they do. They don't return smiles with smiles, they don't show off for guys nearby. Their attention is on attracting girls whom they can bed. If some guy actually hits on them, the response they get is immediate and clear signal of either disinterest or a look easily interpreted as a warning.

What I read says you do neither, but, instead, are open to the communication. Others are watching, and see that. They may interpret that acceptance as an invitation.

So, thinking again of swimmersox comment, something important may be going on in that one percent.
