This isn't a political thread, even if I mention politicians.

Is the term recession irrelevant? What is it? x number of quarters with negative growth? Jeeze.

At some point, some smiling politico is going to tell us that we are no longer in recession. So fucking what? Isn't the real thing whether what you have and make and get to keep, worth more or more?

In the UK, everyone is predicting unemployment up to 3 million; well they aren't going to feel any better by the "recession" being over.

Interest rates are going to go up, so all that money you borrowed, is going to cost you more.

Inflation is going up, so what you have will be worth less.

Pay is being frozen or cut everywhere (apart from Federal employees of course).

And finally, if you do make money, you are going to pay more tax; so again you will have less.

In fact you could have a pay cut, pay more tax, pay more interest and watch your savings lose value. And while this is happening, some politician is going to tell you that we are out of the recession. Yippeee.
