Why is this even marginally legal? You convert to Judaism and then decide that your twelve year old son must have part of his penis cut off?! And how is it possible that the physician would not be guilty of sexual assault?

This type of shit happens all the time behind the scenes of our ridiculous cultural fixation on normal genitalia.

Misha's Case

AN URGENT APPEAL FOR YOUR HELP
TO PROTECT A 12 YEAR-OLD BOY

This is a COMPLETELY different argument now. This is actually bringing religion into the mix. I'm not a religious person but some people are and if they convert to Judaism then one of their requirements is circumcision, I cant argue this because it is not even remotely related to this argument. This has nothing to do with "cultural fixation"

However, clearly you are hell bent on pushing the "Down with Circumcision" argument. We see that...we get that...

You are all over the map with your argument. It needs focus.

Wow, you guys seem out to prove my point by out-crazying each other. Now you want to make it about a kid who's getting circumcised as part of a religious conversion? Jesus Christ! or should I say Holy Moses!

On the other hand, my doctor mentioned 12 is a common age for circumcision because a lot of foreskin problems pop up in puberty and also a lot of boys request it at that age when they're entering middle school.

Yeah, in the U.S., not anywhere else. We know which side your doctor's bread is buttered on.

When genital mutilation is done as an excuse for forcing someone into a religion/spirituality that's when it's just as bad as what they do to women's clits/vaginas in Africa and the middle east as part of their religion and culture.

Male circumcision (genital mutilation) and female circumcision when forced upon non consenting infants or kids by doctors, religion, or cultural reasons is a crime against humanity.

Also you can be Jewish or even Moslem and not cut at all and still very devout towards that religion.

Did that kid ever get cut? I know men who are Jewish who had parents that left them intact and they once did or even do still practice the religion but did not get cut at all. I have male Jewish friends who are very angry that they're cut and there are even Jews in Israel who did not get it done to their sons.

I've always had a foreskin. I never had any problems before puberty and I entered it long before 12.

I'm personally glad I'm intact with a foreskin. It's totally fucked up what they do to boys just to make money or on the idea that it's cleaner or prevents disease when it does not, and in many cases circumcisions can get messed up.

I had one friend I knew growing up that was cut and when it happened his got messed up and he had to have a skin graph on his penis, and his balls do not hang at all.

Yes that's typical of most circumcisions. Very typical. I had a friend who wrecked his car the other day. Thank God I don't have one.

Name an operation that isn't. It's not risk free living. The mortality rate is 100%.

Is a penis piercing also genital mutilation? Dorsal Slit? Penis Enlargment?

What i have noticed over the last couple of pages is that the argument has gone from trying to prove that circumcision actually desensitizes or causes sex not to feel as good as being intact, which we all know is a crock of BS and is now turning to a question of morality and the rights of someone which normally circles around RIC.

And as a correction, true Muslims and Jews do not recognize those individuals who are intact. Yes they can still practice but they are not respected. Again this is a SEPARATE argument truly not even fit for this thread or these boards.

We love the adjective 'intact'. Just by using it to describe ourselves we impart our superior dispostion. Not just a graduate but a suma com laude graduate.

Yes I would consider such things as a penis piercing to be a genital mutilation and same with a dorsal slit/subincision, castration (some men do get this done), and surgical penis enlargement. Just as I'd consider someone branding their skin to be a mutilation of the human body.

I haven't read this whole thread as it's 20+ pages long.

If you're all for circumcision/MGM/FGM/etc. feel free to get it done and get all of your sensitive nerve endings taken away from your genitals. This includes women too.

Based on what you are saying about "true" Orthodox/Hasidic Jews and Fundamentalist Moslems they think that anyone who is not in their sect of Judaism or Islam is not "really" Jewish or Moslem at all and such people are not respected by them. Most Jews are secular and not religious at all.

Sargon-Don't be jealous. I don't care if a guy is cut as there are bisexual and gay men out there and even bisexual and straight women who only have sex and relationships with men that still have a foreskin; but I don't think it should be done on boys/infants.

OK. At least you are rational with your argument. I can accept that. I can easily argue about your sensitive nerve endings comment, but I think its a moot point now. And while most Jews may be secular based on them just being a Jew the circumcision is normally just carried out.

Of course there is no proof. Zilch. None. But I'm sure it makes you feel better to think somehow others are damaged and you are intact, complete. Maybe one day you can do your own research to prove your hypothesis until then I'll believe the professionals.

The American Academy of Family Physicians No valid evidence to date, however, supports the notion that being circumcised affects sexual sensation or satisfaction
Sargon-Don't be jealous.

I don't have a jealous bone in my body. Jealousy is for the young and immature which I am not. Nice, if not, tired bait.

Eh it's not a minor/harmless operation like many think that it is.

yes it is quite minor really. comparing it to others, takes about an hour sometimes less to do it. and unlike most operations the out come is by far greater than some other type operations are or have been besides circumcision.

every ones is different an prefers what they like. some times we get it some times we don't.

oh

how rude of me SARGON to make such a GESTURE toward such a critical operation. yes indeed i should consult the specialist DXJ. on this before making a decision. an also schedule a pre op with his nurse 6928 as for his other nurse SNOOZLE has left his practice ,an moved on to seek out better employment. so in doing so i will be aware of the after affects an know what to expect. how dare me not get a second opinion on this how could i over look such a major thing as this.

Did that kid ever get cut?
Misha is now 14. His mother's original claim was that the dad's desire to cut the boy called his judgement into question and it was a CUSTODY challenge (she had zero say in the boy's medical status by the divorce decree). She lost at the local court and the appellate court. The state supreme court said the lower courts erred in not asking THE BOY what he wants. So the dad appealed to the US supreme court to throw that ruling out (so he could cut the kid regardless of his wishes). The US supremes refused to hear the case. So the apellate judge has finally interviewed Misha in chambers and learned he does not wish to be cut and is scared of his father. She says there will be no circumcision. The custody issue is not settled.

I don't want to sound conspiracy looney, but I have seen IN PRINT in a Jewish journal "Open your checkbooks. We must win this case at all costs" so maybe the dad had money and backing to take it farther than he even wanted to go with it. Sad for the family.

As for those calling the boy's lawyers opportunists or whatever, they are mostly not compensated for about $30,000 worth of lawyering they've done on this.

It's still a question of Religion and Morals.

Having taken it that far, all that really needed to be done is ask the kid. If the kid did not want to be cut then that settles it. Whether there is a conspiracy or not doesnt matter.
