A first year debater in high school could easily come to the same conclusion. Several lawyers have reached it in court cases and the Supreme Court has ruled that the logic you're employing is invalid; guilt by proxy is nonsense.

You're too smart for your own good. He isnt saying the original people are guilty- he's saying the original people shouldnbt be shocked that their pics get circulated

And I agree with that. I don't think anyone here has expressed that they would be shocked if their pictures turned up somewhere else on the internet. He said specifically

and I disagree with the premise. This isn't the equivalent of a Pride Parade, the internet isn't the equivalent of a city and acting responsibly virtually does not equate to acting responsibly in reality.

Posting pictures of yourself in revealing clothing or completely nude on an adult website is not the same thing as walking down the street in the same attire. His argument is that people can "accidentally" stumble across said material and be "traumatized" by it in the same way that people who just so happen to be on a sidewalk some idle Tuesday can be after witnessing fairly common place occurrences during Pride Parades. This is fallacious at best as I've covered in several posts now.

No, I'm not shocked at the idea my pictures might be circulated around the internet. I'll even cede that someone might "happen upon them accidentally" (though that is really threading the needle.) But I will not cede that posting to an adult themed website is tantamount to walking out into public naked. This isn't public. You know how I know that?

Because I'm in my bedroom.

I've considered this a support group, where we can rant and rave, share ideas, show off, laugh a little and let off some steam at times, never considered it an adult site for some reason, maybe because I don't frequently visit other porn sites.

just wanna use this platform to express my feelings ...

i hate gay pride!
i am from cologne in germany ... the most famous gay city (beside berlin) in germany ... and the gay community is celebrating cologne pride this weekend ... 1000s of gay people from all over the world in my city ...

and imho this event is a shame for my city ... i wish it would be over already!
i wish it would be the last pride festival in cologne ...

i am also gay, but this event is a shame for all "ordinary" gay guys ...

you guys don't have to comment my posting ... just accept that i wanna say what i said ...

if you'd like to tell me what you're thinking about gay pride, go ahead!

So, do everyone a favor and do your complaining back in your old closet.

Rikter, if you seriously believe that LPSG members don't download and disseminate the pictures in people albums then I can't believe you've been a member here as long as you have. Members here regularly report discovering their LPSG album pictures circulating elsewhere on the internet.

If you post nude pictures of yourself anywhere on the internet with the best moderators and ToS in the world, nothing is going to stop people from finding ways of downloading and circulating those images, even if it's just by using a snipping tool.

Therefore if you post nude pictures of yourself on the internet you are doing so in public. It is therefore absolutely no different to walking down the street with no clothes on. Deal.

You Missed my point completely.
Looking for it online VS having it walk down main street is very different as most websites require you to certify you are above the age of 18 years old.

You have to take an extra step to see the content. Be it Logging in or certifying your age as an adult.
People can circulate whatever they want. But it's not popping up on your computer screen when you go to Yahoo.

I've been here a long time to recognize the trends of this board and how things operate. You don't need to explain the obvious.
Further, any images that belong to you which were unlawfully used elsewhere can be removed by simply claiming copyright to the image.
Most sites won't want the legal issues and will delete the image promptly.

Rikter, it actually is though, people (members in fact) do download images from this site from time to time, and they do end up being circulated elsewhere, I don't think you read my first post about this.

The other month I found a tumblr, with thousands of non-age verified followers, which contained photos of a guy's dick bearing the LPSG watermark. These images must have been downloaded by a member and then circulated sufficiently that a random blogger on tumblr came upon them and started posting them.

I brought this to the attention of the membership at the time, and contacted the blogger about the images which he very kindly removed but had found on flikr also in a non-age verified context.

This is just a single example, of LPSG member's penis pics popping up randomly on the internet in a context where no age verification was necessary and no extra steps need be gone to other than to have been searching on Google for pictures of a fashion model called River Viiperi.

Members here regularly report accidently finding there photos on other sites in other contexts. Ask Calboner about it, his photos have turned up elsewhere fairly frequently

As for the pride parades I don't have a problem with them being flamboyant and over the top because I understand how taking something you were hated for (and still hated for by many people in the GLBT's case) and show that there is nothing wrong with it, and you aren't scared or hurt by their words. It's very empowering. For all of the GLBT people who don't like the costumes and all that, you SHOULD go. The more diverse the parade the better, no?

Nicely put! It reminds me of the comedian Lenny Bruce who made it a point to use offensive language in his act to bait (and expose) those who wanted to censor him solely because he used words they didn't like. In the case of the parades, I think the flamboyant behavior is, at lease in part, to bait nay-sayers and thumb their noses at those who have a problem with the lifestyle. In the case of this thread's initiator (I forgot his name), it looks like they succeeded...admirably!

Until gay people are treated equally in our society, there will be always those brave souls who, through their behavior, will draw attention to the inequities they face from day-to-day and refuse to suffer in silence and go quietly into the night...thank God!! I don't go cause it's kinda old hat for me but I certainly have no problem with others going and participating in any way they see fit (without forcibly causing harm to anyone else, of course).

I understand the photo issue. It's the one word above "Found" meaning you had to Look for it.

Did you read what I wrote? I was looking for something completely different, a photo set from a fashion shoot, I found a blog in a google search which contained the photos I was looking for but on the same blog stolen LPSG pictures from an LPSG member's gallery had also been uploaded there...

Well put.

Anyway, I haven't been to a gay pride yet, but I want to go, maybe next year! And I sure as hell wouldn't want a guy like ThaiDude with his "thoughts" at the pride spreading his closed-minded ideas, so feel free to stay home!

It's both amazing and sad that so many within the LGBT community, who are discriminated by society and big parts of the world, even discriminate against eachother and within their own community. It's like.. OMG ARE YOU STUPID? Let people be who they are. You say you just want to be "normal" as you put it, which is such a idiotic word. Well then, let everyone else also be who/what they wish to be, as you yourself try to.

I love pride day. It is a wonderful day for the trans community especially for the trans people who are in the beginning of transitioning or cannot afford medical treatment and thus have a hard time "passing". It is a day where they can be who they want to be without being judged and ridiculed.

What it stands for is nice. What's displayed is far from it. Any exposure is good exposure in the eyes of some, I guess.

Edit:

... thought it was nice to see gay activism but that he wasn't sure the amount of nudity and flamboyance was actually going to help the gay cause and therefore he doesn't intend to go to any more of them. But this is the type of guy you want at your events, and if this behavior is chasing people like him off, it may be time to tone it down a bit.

This is pretty much on point.

Also, only a few maggots managed to settle in. The corpse is well-preserved enough for us to have a bit of a go. ... har~
