The under-wire is coming out of my favourite bra!! :frown1:

My sewing fixes never bloody work on these kinds of tears. Anyone got any suggestions? It's the cleavage side, right cup.

(It's the purple one with pink trim, in case you're wondering, Hick.)

    silicone caulk, the clear kind.

sounds the uber strange but ex-girl swears by it. she is the owner of insanely tiny, lacy and expensive underwear. when the underwire roamed.... well.. she didn't handle it very well.

her cure: cut the tiniest nick of the tip of the silicone tube-ish thing.
slide the underwire to expose about one inch of the wire.
    apply silicone goop to wire.
slide wire back into the channel.. umm pocket? seam? underwire garage? channel sounds weird .
clean up any that might gloop out of the fabric.
    let dry.

the silicone hold the wire in place. kinda like cement on fence post.

since the silicone stays soft and pliable there isn't any thing pokey or irritating on sensitive under boob skin.

If you find a fix let me know, those bras I posted about buying a few months back have just suffered the same fate (though it's the arm side of the left one)

I have some clear silicone in the house. I'm going to try ML's fix.

    I'll let you know, Ac.

I have that problem as well and I'm just a b cup. I've decided that with my nice bras that I want to last long, I'm just going to have to handwash them.

But I'm open to other solutions. I've tried stiching the up and crazy glue, but the shape of the bra is still forever lost.

To keep them from rubbing on the skin.

If your pants are too tight, buy another size.

The only fix I know... buy a new bra.
I only buy high quality bras so I only have to every 2 year.
I have at least one white, nude, pink, and black. And for every bra I buy, I would buy 2-3 pairs of matching undies and/or thongs.

Taking care of them is a big part of bra life... when washing, make sure to hook the bra together, so as not to hook onto something else and come out of the machine in a big knot. You can also use a knit bag for your bras when washing and drying them. I'd also let them sit out to dry if I can.

Sorry about your favorite bra. =(

Mine is the right side arm. Hurts like bloody hell! Bought a plastic one once, big mistake! Even said it would support a G without a problem. Right. No.

Buying a new one is an investment. I'd rather get a couple of pairs of shoes.

Going braless is not an option. If you don't understand you never will.

Ever tried sewing it in place? Then don't.

I did seriously consider tape (not duct tape) but that's about as far as I went.

Instead, I just wear the damn thing and complain to hubby at night. He doesn't get it either.
