AZO makes some over the counter pain relief pills. That's the only remedy I know of =/
Maybe take some cranberry pills too? They don't have all that sugar and crap in them like most cranberry juices =/ Sorry lady.

No great advice, but you do have my sympathy! OWIEE!
I hope you feel better soon!
If you have your doctor on speed dial, maybe she/he could call in a last minute script for antibiotics at the pharmacy.

Sorry I'm so late. I haven't ever had a UTI, but I treat a yeast infection with ibuprofen for the itching. I know it isn't the same thing, but if it relieves one type of vaginal pain, perhaps it would work on another. Let us know what the doc did, if you don't mind, please. And I hope your evening went well.

I've never had a UTI either but I was also gonna suggest Ibuprofen, since it helps excellently with infections.
But you really have my sympathies, I hate getting sick when I have plans or stuff to do!

Yeah, I've never had one before and for a "mature" lady was surprised. Post menapausal and seeing blood in the urine means go to the doc.

She gave me an analgesic for the pain (which I must say is pretty damn amazing!) and an antibiotic to fight the bacteria in my bladder.

It came on rather suddenly, and I am glad I went to the doc without trying too many home remedies. I did the baking soda and cranberry juice. She said those were good, but said the yogurt would have been a BIG mistake.

Also the ibp, tylenol or anything like that. The meds I am on now cannot be mixed with any dairy product, and I was also instructed to stay away from tylenol or advil.

Pretty strong stuff but she said I should be much better in 3 days!

I'm pretty sure yogurt is associated with yeast infections and would be terrible as a remedy for UTIs. I'm glad you're feeling better :)

I didn't know you were bleeding. Yeah, you can't take ibuprofn or acetaminophen with a bleeding condition. I never had a UTI. I forgot bleeding was a symptom. I don't know much about it other than everyone recommends cranberry and lots of fluids.
