During my absence from the board I had a lot of time to think about my situation in life and what I must do to improve things and make myself happy. One of the conclusions I came to was that I would be better off in a relationship than being single, so I decided that it was time for me to get married.

After my last proposal failed, I thought about going for an American woman but found my prospects in the States kind of lacking and decided to once again go overseas for love. I joined a FB group matching foreign women with American men and quickly found a willing marriage partner.

She is about 10 years younger than me, which is both good and bad, and she does a lot of the same love bomb stuff these women always seem to do, but she seems to be smart and have her own interests and goals. I know this will be a transactional relationship, and will take steps to protect myself, but I think that is the best option for me to live my best life.

What do you guys think? Big mistake? Best idea Wally has ever had?

Be very careful. I personally have known several men who got set-up in phony marriage proposals by Fillipino women. One man lost a huge sum of money to the woman and in costs to get out of the situation. Another man almost lost his life getting involved with the wrong women. I know other men that have very happy marriages. Be very cautious !!

I don't know your situation, but my instincts say...Big Risk=Little Reward. From one member of the Lpsg brethren to another, I just want what's best for you. Live your life but be careful.

Wow Wally that's a pretty drastic step to take. I'd be very cautious. You can always get out and about after all this lock down is over and meet a woman the old fashioned way.

I'm sure you can turn on the charm and find you a woman that will fall head over heels in love with you.

Welcome back btw.

I don't see Wally really doing what he is saying? Wally is not that stupid...some here may think he is but I don't see it. this is just another one of his attention acquirement methods. Doing this sort of thing would be like Wally making his self perceived situation worse than what his situation has already been perceived by Wally. Wally should write story books for the worlds fantasy crowd. Just sayin YMMV

How did your friend get set up? Can you share any details?

You're right, I need to be very careful. Any tips on what to look out for?

There is a woman here who wants me, but I don't want her. That is the problem. I don't want the women who want me.

Nope. This is real life. I have been chatting a Filipina looking to get married.

I do have some ideas for Lovecraft inspired PSH stories, though.

a friend took a Russian wife. at first, it seemed fine. she knew some English, got better at it, went to school, had a career. wasn't good looking but neither was he. it seemed good for 2-3 years. then not, and divorce followed. but she was in and out of his live for several more years.
another friend has a Fillipino wife(&her dghtr). I don't ask questions and he doesn't say much, but over timeI think it's more of an arrangement than a marriage. he wasn't haven't much lady luck, didn't like living alone, and I think loneliness was what drove him. not sure how long they have been together but it's been longer than my first friend's marriage.

The second is about what I'm expecting. I just want some company.
