Hi,

I dont see the problem here. Is it so unusual at this point for people to have large families, that you need to heap this man with criticism? He and his wife seem to be handling the situation. IF they want 16 children and can afford them , why begrudge them a large family? There are so many people who would love to be able to have children , so if they can, do, and are able to take care of them, I say more power to them!

Naughty
It's fucked how dumb motherfuckers like this spend their every waking hour reproducing while people with some goddamn sense have one or two kids and/or get a dog, resulting in future generations where there are 20 Jim Bobs for every person who knows how to read a clock.

Good point! Now I understand how our nation evolved to the point that we can tolerate George W. and his Republican cronies.

Lol, why do you assume they're stupid?

It has already been said that the family are self sufficient so if these guys can earn enouth money to support a family of 18 without claiming benefits then they're obviously pretty smart or very hard working

I would far rather another 16 money earning, tax paying, bright people on this earth than a load more free loaders claiming benefits that I pay for!

Each to their own and whatever makes them happy is great by me so long as it's not at my expense

Also, why do so many of these threads end up coming back to Bush (of the George W variety). To get from a couple of Catholics who shag a lot to America's elected leader :) is some step to take

OK, so I doubt I'd ever want to go round for dinner with them and I certainly won't be introducing such little gems as 'blanket time' with my little girl but it's not like they're harming anyone and I bet that their kids are very academically minded (or boring, whichever you prefer)

This is the only relevant comment to this otherwise pointless stupid thread. Right on, Dr Dilznick!

I remember the Powers family of Richmond, VA a few years back. Mom & Pop had 21 kids.

It's the parents' business how many children they have just as long as they aren't depending on the taxpayer for support.

I included the quote from the father and the names of the kids deliberately, so that you could OBSERVE THE EVIDENCE of their stupidity INSTEAD of just assuming it.

I agree with TexAssGirl and Naughty.

IF..and IF they can take care of all those kids.
Years ago it might have been easier..but with the cost of things now, I dont see how theyre going to do it.
HOWEVER I still think its not right to raise that many kids, and push the population over the top. I mean...come on 15+ kids?

Its a Whole new JimBob Race!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!

BillyBob, JimBob, BoeBob, Raybob, Peggy, PeggySue, Peggysuebob, Peggybob, BobPeggy... Cuz you KNOW at least 2 of them are gonna turn out gay.

Just having fun with this....
Don't worry..he's a Senator. He'll do inside trading and other covert illegal activities to get his family through. Perfect Bush administration candidate.
We can rest easy at night......

No offense, but I don't see how those parents can give quality time to each of their kids. I have a hard enough time with 2.

This thread does bring up several issues...

Their idea of a "dream home" 7000 square feet, with 2 dorm-style rooms (one for the boys, one for the girls) is a bit scary.

I have mixed feelings on the home-schooling - there are several subjects in which I think I could do a better job than most teachers, if I had children. But with a group that large, and that many different ages, there is no way Michelle can do an effective job. Also, what about socialization? Children, even from an early age, need some small sliver of time away from parents and siblings, spent with other children their own age. Are they getting access to extracurricular and enrichment activities? Music? Art? Sports? A chance to be in the school band or choir, or trying out for the football or basketball or baseball team, is a good thing. Singing at home or playing football in the back yard with your sibs is just NOT the same.

And their "buddy system" of getting things done around the house smacks just slightly of pawning off some of the parenting responsibilities on the older children. It's a good learning experience for the older ones to help, occasionally, with the feeding and diaper-changing of the newest arrivals. But grouping them up and sending them off to different corners of the house to do chores just seems to have something "not quite right" about it.

The one brief interview I saw with them, a couple of years back, gave me the creeps just a bit. They didn't come right out and say it, but hinted that they wanted to continue having children, as often as possible, until her working parts just simply wear out.

I feel I should probably close with a Monty Python quote: Every sperm is sacred, every sperm is great; when a sperm gets wasted, god gets quite irate.
