I remember having a pair just like the 3rd one down in those pics, oh mustachioed one.Are these shoe-skates or the ones you use a key for and put your shoe into and then fasten down?
Never was much into roller skating especially going down a steep hill. That was all decades ago back in the 1960s maybe even into the early 1970s.
Main thing for care in all cases is to make sure the wheels stay in good condition, don't let them get pitted or cracked and make sure they are nicely oiled so they roll easily.
The only tip to offer is that you test them out first, get used to the feel on flat surfaces then you'll be ready for outdoors and the contours of the sidewalks, drives and streets.
Enjoy them and make sure you have good medical coverage including dental.
I know how to roller skate, and skate board and I have been roller blading for about 18 years and I took to it very easily I think because I also snow ski because the key to success is balance. I've seen a lot of people really hurt themselves because they did not know what they were doing. I really recommend looking for a coach to get you started or at the very least watch and take a few performance and safety tips from a coach on line. I think the key thing you need to roller blade is some super short dolphin shorts.
just bought elbow and knee pads... i'll be doing my first test run tomorrow morning...
hopefully i don't break anything.
