This is probably a ridiculous place to talk about this, but ...
My musical tastes where pretty much solidified by the end of the '80s, and sometime this decade I pretty much stopped paying attention to new bands. I mainly listen to classic rock, punk and new wave. When I hear a new song or a new artist that really grabs my attention these days, it's usually country or some folky singer/songwriter.
That said, I just heard on the radio the most amazing song, called, I think, "I Won't Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You." It sounds like Robert Smith from the Cure fronting the Jesus and Mary Chain with a high-school cheerleading squad on backup vocals. It's absolutely incredible. Is this the kind of stuff kids are listening to these days? If so, my hope for the future has just been restored. Does anybody know who this band is?
