I thought I would post here in an effort to express my frustration.
I'm a mid 30's male, married, but do enjoy being around other men (although have never fooled around..just admired.)
There is one trend that is happening more and more over the past 10 years that I find really depressing. And that is more and more men are not just trimming their pubes...they are actually shaving them clean off.
I find this so odd and disturbing. Growing up, I couldn't wait until I was a "man" with pubic hair. I was always curious to see other, older men when I was younger to see their bush. I always found it a bit attractive.
All through high school and college no one dared shave their bush at all. Not even to trim. There were full bushes all around. Some guys opted to shave their balls...something I don't have an issue with. But they would never EVER think of trimming their bush. It was part of "Being a Man."
Something over the last 10 years has changed. I think it is likely the porn influence on society. When I started watching porn, bushes were everywhere. Now everyone is shaved clean. It is a look that I hate...reminds me of a plucked chicken. Why on earth do I want to look like I'm 10 years old?
I do agree it is mainly a generational thing...with the younger guys doing it. But more an more I'm now seeing men in their 40's, 50's, and 60+ doing it too...as if it is expected somehow and "gross" not to do it.
Personally...I find a shaved bush on an older man to be very creepy. It is one thing if a 20 year old is doing it and a whole other thing if a 60 year old does it.
Folks on here seem to have some strong opinions about it. As for me...I keep my full bush (and I'm pretty bushy.) I'm a man..it is part of being a man. If you wan to trim a little (and I stress a little) then fine. But don't ever shave.
My question for the group...do you think a "full bush" for men will ever come back into fashion? Is this just a temporary trend?
I do worry it is permanent. Ladies started shaving their armpits in the early 20th century and hairy pits on women has never returned. Is pubic hair the same way?
I also notice more and more men shaving their armpits now. Ug...don't even get me going on this.:frown1:
