I'm new to the site, don't really "fit in" with size, but I figure this would be the place to ask the question.

Since my doctor has been switching me up on some new medicines, my "sensitivity" has became through the roof. Very embaressing for myself, and my girlfriend, since I'm not able to last nearly as long as I used too. I've tried the "extended pleasure" condoms by trojan with benzocaine, and they only help if I've kept the condom on long enough for most of the benzocaine to work it's way into the skin.

I'm looking for something new. Is that any type of lube that I can buy that has either a high amount of benzocaine, or something better to help me last longer?

I truly appreciate any advice anyone can give me.

i think there are such lubes, i can't name one tho. Maybe some google research would help.

And here is the first result:
    http://www.condomdepot.com/product/detail.cfm/pnid/177/nid/269/pid/1573

I am sure there are many more by different manufactures, just try it out a little to see whether it works, and judging by the amazon review you should apply it a few minutes beforehand to give it time to go to work.

PE is a common side effect of anti-depressant medication, as well as delayed or no orgasm with ejaculation. If the side effects do not subside in a month or so, try talking and switching medications. The other option, if you have the time, is to train your body to adapt to this new sensitivity. Masturbate and actually focus on feeling and handling the feeling - similar to how a virgin and someone who has had sex a few times generally differ in lasting-time. You could also work foreplay and postplay to ensure your gf is getting off since you already have (fair is fair).

    Best of luck!

What meds are you taking..? That might help.
Where I live there are docs now specialising in ED and Prem Ejac, etc. issues. Private clinics (making $$$). They would have the knowledge though for the prob you're describing. Perhaps you have similar where you are?

See I was thinking oraljel, because it has a high amount of benzacaine, but then I thought to myself "well it burns like hell when you put it on your gums, WTF is it going to do when its on my dick"? I just ordered from lube from a website, that another member posted up in an earlier reply to my thread...i'm going to see how that works..

And the medication I'm in is Wellbutrin. I was on Paxil for years, and never had problems...and I mean never. Intercourse with my girlfriend and I was always atleast 45 minutes. I've been playing around for the past year with new meds, and the wellbutrin is what's making me feel best now....but now i've got this downfall.

Well let's hope you are not 22 as you were "on Paxil for years" don't forget in the under 24's there are higher thoughts of suicide with many antidepressants.

So guess you have stopped smoking if you are on Wellbutrin...

Suggest for the premature ejaculation that you practice edging or go and see your doctor ask him to take you off the pills and do some Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Thats why I got off the Paxil...I was on it since I was 14. They say weaning off Paxil is like a heroine addict just up and quitting....now I never did heroine, but damn was it hard. I was solidly sick for almost 6 months, I've lost almost 50 pounds, appetite has done a 180, and now I've got this problem...

On antidepressants for 8 years, your doctor needs shooting, to keep someone doped for 8 years and more is appalling in the extreme.

I guess, you are regaining senses that have been dulled or 'turned off', the premature ejaculation will stop eventually, practice the edging and expect you will be fine, it will just take a little while and you know what they say, "Practice makes perfect" so enjoy the practice and develop stamina at the same time

Anti-depressants really fuck up your ejaculations. Acutally, I thought Wellbutrin XL was supposed to be better than others....as well as causing weight gain. I am now taking Effexor and notice that my ejaculations have become not as intense than when I was on Wellbutrin. Side effects...they effect people in different ways.

And in response to brinzaulsschwul's last post....it is not that uncommon for people to be on anti-depressants for 8 years or more. I have been on them for longer than 8 years and I am still trying to find the right one that works well for me. And psychiatrists recommend that one receive counseling, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, etc., in combination with taking anti-depressants, if the patient needs it.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

I was on tricyclics for a while to help cope with ungodly nerve pain due to their dying off. (The underlying condition has been diagnosed and resolved - placed under strict control) While I was in their influence, orgasm wa inpossible, was like a peak that never, ever broke over the sea wall. :p But when i was weaned off them, two weeks later, things started to get semi-normal....but then I had a hair trigger. Quite annoying. ;D After a month or so of that nonsense, things pretty much went back to normal, no worries. Talk with your physician about your meds and side effects - maybe a slight change in medicine(s) is all you need.

See, my doctor told me the same thing too when I talked to him about PE, he said that the Welbutrin SR (controlled release) rather then XL, is the one that is supposed to be least reactive to sexual activity....

I think another reason why I may be so "sensitive" is because the sex in my girlfriend and I's relationship has really been cut by like 98%. I live with a family member, and I'm not gonna just have my girlfriend over, and bang like we used to, just out of respect.

Just by the way, I read recently that it may not be long before 'more selective' and therefore effective SSRIs will be available. I don't mean as soon as next year but the research is being done. The current crop of SSRIs, apparently, are not very discrete in how they 'up' serotin levels in the brain..they're a sort of shot gun approach which activates all the receptors.
    Hence, the side effects.
'Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor', really, is a misnomer.
Only one receptor, it now seems, called '5HT1a', is linked with antidepressive and antianxiety behavior. The idea, now, is to target this receptor. But to do this scientists need to inhibit a problematic, very particular family of proteins called, 'Regulators of G protein Signaling' (RGS proteins), which put the brakes on neuro-transmitter signaling.
Well, this has recently been done with mice.
SSRIs, probably, will be replaced by RGSIs, or some combination of both.

It won't if you don't know what an SSRI antidepressant is.
Super92coupe, from what he's said here, and others might.

Might be an individual whom might not even miss RGS proteins if they evaporated upon exposure to mild, insightful reflection. ;>

It's like the phrase: "There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that do not."

If ya get it, ya get it. If not, then not. No biggie - it does not interfere with one's hapless pursuit of coffee. :D Though stuffed up RGS proteins *might* inhibit that enjoyment some. *laugh*
