I remember when...

- Geocities was considered acceptable web design

- Kevin Spacey, Bill Cosby, Louis CK, Kramer, Lindsay Lohan, Harvey Weinstein, Jeffery Tambor, etc were all cool/funny/admirable

- As kids we all talked about truly great comic book movies being a possibility. This was when the best comic book movies at the time were Spawn, Burton's Batman and Reeve's Superman.

- Connecting to the internet meant hearing that abrasive dial-up sound

- Before Jurassic Park, nobody had any idea of what real dinosaurs looked like because there were no accurate images in pop culture. I watched lots of documentaries and read every book I could and had memorized tons of paleontology stuff as a young kid. Then Jurassic Park was released and holy shit, there they are! ACTUAL dinosaurs! As science knows them to appear! That first movie gets a lot of smack because of all the inaccuracies due to the progress of scientific knowledge, but aside from the frilled lizard-inspired Dilophosaurus and Deinonychus being labeled Velociraptor people forget how accurate they were for the time. It was a quantum leap in special effects too.

*I remember when Pepsi was clear and there use to be a candy bar called 100GRAND bar.
*I remember when it was safe to play out side in your own neighborhood past the time the street lights came on and without fear or safety issues.
*I remember when cars were basic and A/C power door locks and windows and custom wheels or cloth intererior was an option and cost more
*I remember when looks didn't matter as much as the personality or humor of a person.
*I remember when cock size or boob size didn't matter
*I remember when Basic math , Cursive and the Pledge of Allegiance and prayer was allowed in schools
*I remember when vehicles were stick shift or column shift. Automatic was an option. or was it the other way around?
*I remember when groceries purchased at a store were not loaded with chemicals and lasted longer on your shelf or fridge before molding
*I remember when people use to wave too one another without worries about getting shot
They still make $100 Grand bars :)

Did you buy? And if so, on an unrelated note...marry me?

I did; but sadly I sold it all. The good news is that I used the money to buy a place to live.

I would ask you to marry me; but you would have to cross the border and live the American life. I would not wish that on such a nice person, such as yourself .

I’d be insulted, but I really, really, really don’t want to give up being Canadian. Plus, I’ve sworn off the US until 2020. Or 2024, depending on how things go. :)

I am keeping my eye on 2020, as well. You may have to start a refugee sanctuary for all of us who will cross the border, looking for sanity.
Most likely you and @AlteredEgo , can get married and then you ladies an adopt me :)

You know what? You actually look like you could be our kid! Not that we’re old enough, (damn you for implying that!), but holy moly, you could genetically be a mix of us. We’d totally spoil you though. You’d be a roly poly Ro!

I remember when people used to be able to tell time by reading analogue clocks. In all seriousness, I've seen recent news articles stating that some schools want to replace analogue clocks with digital ones because a majority of students today can't read the former.

I've read similar statements. I worked in a school aftercare program 5 or 6 years ago and there were only analog clocks there. A large number of the kids over 3rd grade (8-9 years old) that had no idea how to read it. This was at a private school too. We made sure in the program that the kids could read analog clocks. It's not that hard.
