So a couple of weeks ago, I fell asleep on the couch. I woke up hearing a clicking/tapping noise. I looked up and saw a blueish blur in front of the TV. I kind of kicked at it, thinking it was some kind of light trick, but then I was a little clearer. It was a dude, kneeling in front of my TV. When I kicked it, it turned around and looked at me. Needless to say it freeked me out. I jumped up, and turned the light on. The figure flickered out and disapeared.

I've never been one to buy into paranormal crap, but this freaked me out. I leave open the possibilty that I had some crazy kind of dream, and woke up in a way that made me think it was real. But I don't think it was. I slept with a light on for the rest of that week.

Anyone else have a crazy kind of thing like this happen?

Relax you had a...um...I forget what it's called. It's a special case when a person is caught in the transition between waking and sleep. I used to do that all the time. I used to see all kinds of odd crap, and still do from time to time. It only means that you woke under uncommon circumstances. It's no different than waking with wood. When it happens often you start controlling the images you see, but for now they ar subcontious images. Unless, there was something else out of the ordinary, like the T.V. suddenly turning on or off, while the remote is sitting on the T.V. *mwu, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha*.

If it's worth anything, I saw a kneeling person the first time it happened to me as well. At the end of the other bed in the room I was sleeping in. I even mentioned the other person kneeling to the guy whose house it was... at which moment I realized it couldn't have happened at all.

although today, it just means "drowsy", the original meaning of "somnolence" was that twilight state between conscious and unconscious, where you are awake, but still experience dream-like thoughts

Are you sure you were awake when it happened because it could have also been lucid dreaming.

I'm not really sure of anything. It was really strange. I didn't "think" I was dreaming, but I wouldn't swear to anything. It felt real, but who knows. Those were interesting posts...
