I see myself...

The last time Lex and his hubby were in town, he looked at me oddly at some point rather late in the evening (probably sometime between midnight and 1:00) and said, looking into my eyes deeply:

"I finally understand how different you are at night. Your total affect is completely different: you're more awake and more alive than I've ever seen you before"

Lex and Bubba have been including me in their regular visits to SoFla for a couple of years now and we probably have at least five visits under our belts: in other words, we're not strangers at all.

Of course, Lex is the PhD, the fabulous husband and genuinely loving, creative father; I'm the odd-ball nutsack who finds any social contact before 3:00 PM to be a form of barbarism. Especially since having moved to Florida in 2003 and most especially in the last four years, I am almost entirely nocturnal. I always get my best creative thinking and sharpest insights somewhere between 2:00 and 6:00 AM.

One thing I have enjoyed a lot about living on the continent is that the work day ends later and I can do business with people, on the phone or in person, right up til 7pm - or 8 with certain companies. I function so much better after 5pm.

I do notice as I creep towards my 40s that mornings are getting a little easier, though I think that has more to do with the fact that I need less sleep now than I did in my 20s. Five hours is a minimum, I used to need at least 7. So I still go to bed at 2am but it doesn't hurt when I have to get up at 7. I still don't function at full speed in the mornings, but at least I function.

I'm the same most of my best work is done at night and I come alive between 5 and 6 in the evening.

Actually morning fucking is something I will make a pre-noon alertness exception for. :yup:

I cannot do morning sex I'm like a car accident victim in the morning and I can't even move coherently or think properly. I also feel sick which doesn't make for horny.
