I think I'm particularly dense this morning. (I'm sitting here trying to write about gerunds and participles and other arcane facts of grammar in a way that nine and ten year olds can understand...) (duh!!)

But it did occur to me that Prince did a good thing he changed his name back. I mean, really -- who wants hieroglyphics on their future tombstone?

LOL -- yeah I saw the picture, but was looking for something to "eye spy" and the only thing I saw was the symbol on his sleeve... and that got me to thinking, which is not necessarily a good thing!

But can you imagine walking down the main street of your town wearing that get up? What do you think would happen?!!

Speaking of Halloween, are you going to go to any parties? I'm bummed out because I missed the one party I really DID want to go to (bf out of town and it wasn't a place I'd dare go alone). I'll have to get busy and get myself invited somewhere or else I'll miss the whole "holiday" except for hanging around pubs/bars where I don't know hardly anyone!

Re Halloween:

We don't see it as a holiday season here...you just go trick or treating when you're a kid then it stops. If you're an adult, you turn all the lights off in your house and pretend you're not in all night :tongue:

A lot of people here see trick or treating as a form of begging. One guy even told me to "Fuck off back to America where it began" when I was younger. The kids love it though, its just not a festivity for adults. You big kid!

You make me wanna dress up as Prince now :redface: lol. You may have actually made my day :smile:

LOL -- well, maybe it's a northern thing, but when I lived in the "deep south" of England, we always had Halloween parties! (Never went trick or treating though -- only did that in America)

I'm not sure what do do this Halloween. I like to dress as a pun -- one year I was Dork Vader, another year I was TinkleBell (toilet seat around my middle)

I'm torn between wearing green tights and tying cooking pots around my middle (Peter Pans)...

...or maybe wrapping a sheet around my hips and painting "Best Foods Mayonnaise" logo on a cheap bra.... Venus de Mayo... but then again, many people don't get my "art puns" because not enough people know the NAMES of the works of art that they are familiar with. :redface:
