Those who serve our country in war show amazing bravery and make incredible sacrifices.

But it doesn't necessarily make them any smarter.

A LOT of people on this site have a very hard time distinguishing Fox News programming from Fox opinion programming. It's really not that hard.

Fox News programming isn't biased at all...and Fox opinion shows routinely feature both sides of one argument. Greta isn't biased at all. Bill and Sean do have a conservative tilt that bothers some people (although I don't know how anyone could bothered by fiscal responsibility and lower taxes...but some people just have to whine).

Greta is a has been sell out who reads the talking point Ailes hands her like all the others.
There IS NO DIFFERENCE between their "opinion" and their "news" reportage.

Anybody unable to see this is precisely the kind of ignorant, misinformed, reactionary nincompoop on whom they depend for their ratings.

Seriously... I see far more cogent and well supported criticism of Obama on Rachel Maddow than you will find anywhere on FOX.

Sure, she prefers hum... but at least the stuff she dumps on him for is stuff that is actually true, and she doesn't excuse the sins of the left while lambasting the sins of the right.

FOX is corporate fascism. Nothing less and nothing more.

Anyone in thrall with FOX would happily subvert the constitution, and hand the entire country over to the plutocrats.

Folks claiming MSNBC is far left are woefully undereducated.

They are left leaning, no doubt... but they are actually pretty middle of the road left. There are NO broadcast stations of any sort pushing a far left agenda... there are practically no far left politicians in existence.

Just as there are no moderate republicans left.

There is a huge difference between MSNBC and FOX.... MSNBC does not LIE outright to its audience. They do not present a false picture of events.
They may tend to comment in a way that makes their more liberal positions clear... but what you see and hear will be, at least, factual.

When they do make an error or offer something that turns out to have been mis-reported... they take the time to make a retraction.

FOX news is nothing other than corporatist agitprop. Mostly false, misleading, or mis-represented.

None of the shows on FOX qualify as journalism... every producer and writer is required to follow specific scripts and storylines dictated by Ailes.

Jon Stewart gets a lot of mileage out of merely showing groups of clips of FOX shows where every talking head is spouting the exact same sentences.... the exact same corporate talking points.

Independent analyses have shown that FOX news' audience is consistently most un-informed, mis-infomred and mal-informed.

So, by all means, if your objective is to be Stupider, less informed, and mosre mistaken about world events... watch FOX.

FOX is the Professional Wrestling of television news.

Except... most Pro Wrestling fans can admit that what they are watching is all fake.

That makes them significantly smarter than FOX viewers.

Hey Phil!! In reading some of the responses this also was my first thought "Talking points" It seems to me that one of the great differences between Republicans and Democrats in general is that you simply don't seem to hear those same "phrase" talking points repeated in Democratic circles. I listen to the Republicans and it appears as though they've all been handed a memo that says: "Here's what you need to say and HOW to say it." And those "talking points" in my opinion are what constitutes the term "propaganda" It makes no difference if they're the truth. Just repeat the mantra in the same words, "the smoking gun" comes to mind real fast! So -- to the OP my advice is: when you watch ALL the news channels, just listen for those who are trying to honestly communicate facts and ideas and listen to those who keep hounding and harping away with the same phraseology. And as an aside: This is the genius of Fox News. Keep it simple, make it memorable and repeatable (truth of course having nothing to do with it). This is why even average intelligence Republicans can argue with their more un-informed neighbors. They've memorized the talking points!! It's a pyramid propaganda machine!

Would you like to share with us whatever opiate you are ingesting? Faux is nothing BUT propaganda. Perhaps you just missed the newest report out that people who watch Faux are actually more ill informed than people who watch no news at all.

Try Media Matters. They exist to document the lies of Faux News.

Are you one of the many reich wing trolls who gets paid to post bullshit in public forums?

As for your last statement about fiscal responsibility and lower taxes; you are ignoring history. First, the repukes are NOT fiscally responsible. They never have been. Turn off Sean Hannity for a few minutes and do a little research. Examine which presidents were responsible for increasing the national debt the most. They ALL have (R) behind their name. Don't even put a right-of-center D like Obama in that category!

This nation prospered when the tax rate on corporations and the upper class hovered in the 70-90th percentile. The asinine argument that lower taxes leads to prosperity has failed the test of history time and time again.

Lower taxes starves government of providing services (and allows Ron & Randy Paul to achieve one more cheap orgasm); It also sets the bar for LOWER wages for all workers.

Bullshit belongs in the cattle pen; not here. Please put yours in the right place.

No, you didn't "serve" your country. You were an unwitting pawn for neocon wars of conquest. Just how the fuck did invading countries that posed no threat to ours constitute "service?" I sleep just as soundly now, after thousands of innocent Iraqis have been killed, as before.

When the fog clears from your ability to think clearly, you will focus your anger in the "right" direction instead of spewing nonsensical prattle about smoking dope and killing baby girls.

Please tell me you don't vote. You're wayyy to far gone to make any intelligent decisions that impact the whole nation.

Try teabagging instead

yawn.

Name a war the US has been in since World War II where American (or worldwide) average quality of life would have been significantly diminished if we hadn't fought. I'll measure my gratitude to your service based on that.

Until then, get in line behind doctors, teachers, nurses and the poor children who work in Apple or Nike sweatshops who sacrifice just as much of themselves to help keep society going.

Given your strong moral viewpoint, I think it's good that you served in the US military for 8 years. They NEVER kill babies.

Hey,man. As a proud liberal I find this post out of bounds. I don't like "little puppy's" or wolf or whatever- posts either. I find him to be insufferable and boorish. However, how his time in the military was spent was out of his control. It was dictated by those powers the people put in office. Regardless of how misguided any of us consider any particular campaign or operation, the military go at the command of its leaders. In this way they are always in service of their country. Trust me, many service members do not agree with the policies that place them in certain operations but go because they are obligated to do so. This is the only way the system works. When the military chooses to disregard the orders of the democratically elected leaders, then we will be in real trouble.

I understand that completely. But I also understand that serving the country is a whole lot different than being a pawn for the MIC.

It is disgusting that the military has become an employment agency for so many youth unable to find a decent job after thirty years of destructive Repubican  economic policies.

I *genuinely* believe that both sides share the fault, as do a number of other parties, including we the consumers. After all, it is we who buy what they are selling.

This constant need to blame, solely, the "right wing" for all the perceived ills of society is becoming quite tiresome.

Both sides have their issues but as of right now, there's only one side that's causing trouble and its not the Dems. But you want to know what's really tiring RNGR? Republicans saying no to everything and then criticize the President when they say he's "not creating jobs fast enough" and that Republicans continue to put Congress on recess every other week.

Watch news? What person with half a brain actually watches news on television; i.e., relinquishes the power and responsibility to inform himself to a truthiness show that decides what it wants you to hear, how much of it and how it's going to package it? Fuck that. I go online and read 3 or 4 articles on each of the topics of the day that matter to me or are hot at the moment. I also have apps that bundle news topics of my choosing and present me with options. Maybe I'll most trust and enjoy Al-Jazeera's war reporting one day and CNN's the next. CNET for computing news over Fox. And maybe a European or Asian news service for an insightful look at the US economy or presidential race.

Good god, the thought of someone talking to me out of a box day after day about their take on the news is just repellent. We need some sort of Pandora News, where you can customize it yourself. Cable and broadcast news is for the brain dead.

Maybe you'd like to see some ratings comparison between the cablenews channels.
This is updated regularly but the most recent will be the day before or a Friday if you're viewing it on a Monday.

The evening time slots are by the hour and all programming between FoxNews, MSNBC, CNN, HLN is broken down to individual shows.
Keep scrolling to see past days' ratings.

Speaks for itself.
