Why would guys with perfectly functional foreskins go on health forums and post topics about having problems with them?

Sampling bias, man.

Explain yourself, please,

I also can't help but wonder if the culture of circumcision in the US has caused phimosis to be more common, since most people - doctors included - are clueless about how foreskin should work and what is and isn't normal. I've met guys in their 20s unaware that their foreskin was supposed to retract.

I don't get the point: are these guys cut or not? If they are, (as I assume from the verb in the past) how can you say that phimosis is more common? If anything, ignorance on how it works is more common, but not phimosis!!

Medical statistics are more reliable than what people say on an online forum.

Ok, so all these people have nothing better to do in their life than wasting time telling made-up health issues??

Boh, waiting for the other guy to answer...

Explain yourself, please,

The definition of sampling bias is "a bias in which a sample is collected in such a way that some members of the intended population are less likely to be included than others."

If you go to a forum for health problems, the guys who don't have phimosis aren't going to be going to those forums.

Your experience looking at health forums isn't going to give you an accurate portrayal of how common phimosis is, because the guys who don't have it aren't gonna post threads saying "happy with my normal functioning cock! no problems here! just wanted to let you know I exist!"

I don't get the point: are these guys cut or not? If they are, (as I assume from the verb in the past) how can you say that phimosis is more common? If anything, ignorance on how it works is more common, but not phimosis!!

"Verb in the past" is also used for conditional/subjunctive mood in English. They're uncut.
