How do you (cis women) feel about trans women (with male genetalia) using the same public toilets / bathrooms / locker rooms?

As the title says, I fully understand that this may be a controversial question so please forgive me since i honestly don't mean this to be offensive to anyone. It's just a question I've been asking myself lately.
I'd like to explain the question a little bit so it's clear where I am coming from.
Back in my college days it was totally normal that women used the toilets for men to cut down waiting times (on big parties for example). The other way around always was a total no go. So while I fully understand that trans women identify as women I still wonder if (cis or even trans women who already had a surgery) women are ok with post-op trans women using the same facilities.

Public restroom... don't care. They have doors. Wouldn't bother me a bit.

Locker room... If a trans woman is at least somewhat passable and doesn't change out in the open, I am not going to give it much thought. But I gotta be honest... if it's the type of locker room that doesn't have individual changing stalls and I see a wang, I'm not gonna like it. That crosses a line for me.

Trans women are women. I have absolutely no discomfort whatsoever using a stall next to her.

Locker room? Same thing. Pre or post transition, I just don't care.

Women are victimized by cis men in these places all the time. That's what I'm worried about. The actual predator who isn't trying at all to "pass"

Edit: same feels on trans folk playing sports. I. Just. Don't. Care. I don't think they have this huge advantage people seem to think they do. And if they do, I just don't care. It's a game. Ffs

Without ever having really thought about that I tend to disagree. I've seen a male junior team beat the female national team in soccer with 7:0. Across most sports physically born men have a bigger potential on average. They run faster, lift more, throw harder etc. On average that is. Sports is about fairness and it's not "just a game" to most people. It's also about competition.

I probably have been in a public bathroom or changing room with more Trans folks than I would ever guess or know.

I can't say I don't care cuz I really serious do care. Trans people, visibly trans or non-visibly trans, need to know they are safe in public spaces. That includes gendered spaces like bathroom and changing rooms. I've lingered in the ladies to buffer a few folks bathroom visit. Assholes really are cowards and seldom make a fuss in the face of being called out.

The mythical sexual predator claiming Trans status to access that ladies room does not exist. Men do not need to claim Trans status to sexually assault/harass women. They do it quite well presenting as their assigned gender.

Also. Seriously, stand up for visibly trans folks in public spaces. Not everyone has the ability to not be clocked.

Yes absolutely, I shouldn't phrase it as "I don't care" because I really fucking do as well. I just mean that it absolutely doesn't bother me at all.

I've thought a little more about this... if a trans woman is living as a woman, then the ladies locker room is the appropriate place for her to change. That said, If I see her penis, I'm still not gonna like it. there are tons of things in this world that I don't like or make me uncomfortable that I'm still empathetic towards the person and sensitive about their needs as a human being.

What’s under a woman’s skirt/trousers is NOT my business.
As long as I don’t see peen, and in my experience trans folx don’t wave around that they don’t not identify with (exempting being paid to do so), I’m all for all the ladies using the ladies’ loo. Trans women face more harassment from CIS males in the men’s room.

And just in case, because my faith in male intelligence as a thing decays on this site, women do not flash pussy and titties in restrooms.
Hell, I’ve seen women in such a hurry to leave they don’t wash their hands.

Since two of you brought up cis men and sexual predators. The question really wasn't about trans women being sexual predators. It solely was about how do you feel about them sharing the facilities with you. Honest and probably naive question.

Women who are trans still be women. So. No fuss from me. I identify outside the binary, tho. Always had a uterus n stuff, but am prolly not your target audience ya asking. But. I have happily helped some women who are trans feel safe and more normal while goin' out shoppin. Would do the same for gym if it were asked/I had funds to visit they gym.

You are part of the target audience. So thanks for your input.

But I understand now why some brought up sexual predators and stuff. Since I included post-op trans women in the target audience and specifically talked about penis I fully understand it may have been indicating something I didn't actually mean. My wording was just bad I guess.

As I understand it by now there would be a difference between let's say public toilet and public shower. For some there is a line when it comes to full nudity (as in seeing the wang) as I understand. Which is totally fine in my opinion. For others it doesn't matter at all (but they care about the topic and the people).

Another question would be if women here at LPSG are more open about those things on average compared to the people out there. I feel they are. But that's just my impression of course.

I only bring it up because that's the talking point I always hear when this gets brought up. "Well if we start letting trans people use whatever bathroom they want we'll have men dressing up as women to gain access to their bathrooms!" Uh... No. They don't bother dressing up, they just go in there and assault someone. It happens all the time.

Really, if it weren't for the fact that I've been sexually assaulted by men, and every woman I know has been sexually assaulted or harassed by men I wouldn't care about shitting/pissing next to you guys either. For me there's almost no reason to have separate bathrooms other than that. So that's why I brought it up.

Trans women don't make me uncomfortable on any levels. They're just women.

100x 100% +1 what Ms TnJ said.

Conservatives have made the "Trans Rights will be a window for sexual predators" a talking point. It's not that Conservatives are against Trans people they are deeply concerned for the safety of women.: unamused:

The only upside is Conservatives admitting that men are a direct threat to the safety of women.
