Funny thing is, all the voter intimidation pulled on behalf of the Republicans during the election, all the dissemination of misinformation to voters in some areas (e.g. telling voters that certain people were supposed to vote the day after and threatening legal Hispanics with deportation) - all the subsequent antics of racist elements within the Tea Party (as you've noted on numerous occasions) and there are still those here whining about three assholes calling themselves "Black Panthers"? Give me a f**kin' break.

Just race based rhetoric, imo, on the part of Republicans trying to polarize the vote.

I agree.... that whole 'black panther' nonsense is just being used to stir up racial tension.
If you don't think for one second that those people were put there to act out a part, you should get your head checked.

In just six months, the largest tax hikes in the history of America will take effect. They will hit families and small businesses in three great waves on January 1, 2011:
(N.B. This version of the document contains even more tax hikes than the original version did)

First Wave: Expiration of 2001 and 2003 Tax Relief

In 2001 and 2003, the GOP Congress enacted several tax cuts for investors, small business owners, and families. These will all expire on January 1, 2011:

Personal income tax rates will rise. The top income tax rate will rise from 35 to 39.6 percent (this is also the rate at which two-thirds of small business profits are taxed). The lowest rate will rise from 10 to 15 percent. All the rates in between will also rise. Itemized deductions and personal exemptions will again phase out, which has the same mathematical effect as higher marginal tax rates. The full list of marginal rate hikes is below:

- The 10% bracket rises to an expanded 15%
- The 25% bracket rises to 28%
- The 28% bracket rises to 31%
- The 33% bracket rises to 36%
- The 35% bracket rises to 39.6%

Higher taxes on marriage and family. The “marriage penalty” (narrower tax brackets for married couples) will return from the first dollar of income. The child tax credit will be cut in half from $1000 to $500 per child. The standard deduction will no longer be doubled for married couples relative to the single level. The dependent care and adoption tax credits will be cut.

The return of the Death Tax. This year, there is no death tax. For those dying on or after January 1 2011, there is a 55 percent top death tax rate on estates over $1 million. A person leaving behind two homes and a retirement account could easily pass along a death tax bill to their loved ones.

Higher tax rates on savers and investors. The capital gains tax will rise from 15 percent this year to 20 percent in 2011. The dividends tax will rise from 15 percent this year to 39.6 percent in 2011. These rates will rise another 3.8 percent in 2013.

Second Wave: Obamacare

There are over twenty new or higher taxes in Obamacare. Several will first go into effect on January 1, 2011. They include:

The Tanning Tax. This went into effect on July 1st of this year. It imposes a new, 10% excise tax on getting a tan at a tanning salon. There is no exemption for tanners making less than $250,000 per year.

The “Medicine Cabinet Tax” Thanks to Obamacare, Americans will no longer be able to use health savings account (HSA), flexible spending account (FSA), or health reimbursement (HRA) pre-tax dollars to purchase non-prescription, over-the-counter medicines (except insulin).

The HSA Withdrawal Tax Hike. This provision of Obamacare increases the additional tax on non-medical early withdrawals from an HSA from 10 to 20 percent, disadvantaging them relative to IRAs and other tax-advantaged accounts, which remain at 10 percent.

Brand Name Drug Tax. Starting next year, there will be a multi-billion dollar tax assessment imposed on name-brand drug manufacturers. This tax, like all excise taxes, will raise the price of medicine, hurting everyone.

Economic Substance Doctrine. The IRS is now empowered to disallow perfectly-legal tax deductions and maneuvers merely because it judges that the deduction or action lacks “economic substance.” This is obviously an arbitrary empowerment of IRS agents.

Employer Reporting of Health Insurance Costs on a W-2. This will start for W-2s in the 2011 tax year. While not a tax increase in itself, it makes it very easy for Congress to tax employer-provided healthcare benefits later.

Third Wave: The Alternative Minimum Tax and Employer Tax Hikes

When Americans prepare to file their tax returns in January of 2011, they’ll be in for a nasty surprise—the AMT won’t be held harmless, and many tax relief provisions will have expired. These major items include:

The AMT will ensnare over 28 million families, up from 4 million last year. According to the left-leaning Tax Policy Center, Congress’ failure to index the AMT will lead to an explosion of AMT taxpaying families—rising from 4 million last year to 28.5 million. These families will have to calculate their tax burdens twice, and pay taxes at the higher level. The AMT was created in 1969 to ensnare a handful of taxpayers.

Small business expensing will be slashed and 50% expensing will disappear. Small businesses can normally expense (rather than slowly-deduct, or “depreciate”) equipment purchases up to $250,000. This will be cut all the way down to $25,000. Larger businesses can expense half of their purchases of equipment. In January of 2011, all of it will have to be “depreciated.”

Taxes will be raised on all types of businesses. There are literally scores of tax hikes on business that will take place. The biggest is the loss of the “research and experimentation tax credit,” but there are many, many others. Combining high marginal tax rates with the loss of this tax relief will cost jobs.

Tax Benefits for Education and Teaching Reduced. The deduction for tuition and fees will not be available. Tax credits for education will be limited. Teachers will no longer be able to deduct classroom expenses. Coverdell Education Savings Accounts will be cut. Employer-provided educational assistance is curtailed. The student loan interest deduction will be disallowed for hundreds of thousands of families.

Charitable Contributions from IRAs no longer allowed. Under current law, a retired person with an IRA can contribute up to $100,000 per year directly to a charity from their IRA. This contribution also counts toward an annual “required minimum distribution.” This ability will no longer be there.

This survey is loaded. The multiple choice is not realistic or fair. If there was a #3 choice with something like "I'm happy with his performance since he's doing the best with what he has to work with", or "Are you happy with Obama especially considering what we had before him?", it'd be about covered.

Wrong the the Obama administration won a defualt jugment in April 2009 but dismissed the charges May 15 2009. then Justice official J. Christian Adams quit his job accused his former employer of instructing attorneys in the civil rights division to ignore cases that involve black defendants and white victims. But you are right those three are imbiciles.

I would imagine the Adams had apretty good gig going and to make an accusation like that without having to back it up would be occupational suicide. it's not over yet.

There is no case. And the proof is on the second video.
Thirty seconds into the video, when the police ask the two men what they were doing and how they were responding to a claim regarding voter intimidation, a female voice is heard off camera clearly saying, "They're not stopping anybody." She even asks aloud if she should speak to the police, which proves she was more than willing to give testimony.

Curious to know why the pundits at Faux News think these guys were engaging in voter intimidation when we clearly have the audio of an eyewitness saying that they weren't doing anything wrong? How come nobody has sought out information from a key witness who was actually there? Anyone have an answer for this? I mean, just like Faux News and the rest of the brainwashed masses say, "IT'S ALL ON THE TAPE".

Too bad the folks of Election Journal aren't too good at video editing and overdubbing. Too bad the rest of us know how to use our ears as well as our eyes before making judgement calls. And too bad for anyone desperately trying to make a mountain out of a molehill just for the sake of trying to position Obama as someone who doesn't like white people. I mean hell, his own mother is white. In the midst of starting a phony race war, did the birthers, tea baggers and the rest of the political bigots forget that?

By far, this is one of the most laughable stories of last year and it's coming back to make us laugh even more. And come 2012, trust me... nobody is gonna forget the BS.

I Voted for Obama, but now....
After watching the incompetent, spiteful antics of the Republican/Teabag party over the past two years, I'm even more inclined to vote for the Dems and Obama, than I was in 2008.

^This. I'm not super-pleased with Obama's performance thus far, but at the same time I'm not particularly displeased. I'm fairly middle-of-the-road in my opinion of him, but the Republican party has only convinced me to vote against them.

Oh dear...where to begin:

1st...there does not have to be a single word spoken to constitute voter intimidation. Just the act of them being there...brandishing weapons is enough to violate the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

2nd...there have been witnesses that have come forward stating that there was indeed intimidation and racial events taking place that day at that polling location.

If you actually educate yourself of the issue, you will find that this is not a political issue...but a failure of our justice department. This is not about Fox News.

You are right on one point though...people won't forget this massive level of corruption in 2012...and Obama's "4-year too long" presidency will come to an end.

Oh dear I thought I was dreaming. But indeed Bush was re-elected even after he presided over the worst terrorist attack in history and after lying his way into a 3 trillion dollar vanity war. But it wasn't a dream it was true.

Fast forward and we are propagandizing 'massive level of corruption'? I laugh. Is this the Sunday Morning comic strip I'm reading?

Who cares the President doesn't matter anyway, follow the money, the congress or now the Fed has the purse strings. We are all just rats, working in the rat race to feed the government machine. Slavery is alive and well, can't wait till they start the beatings.

Bullshit. In the state of Pennsylvania, it is not illegal for someone to be in possession of a billy club in public. Also, one of them actually lived in the building.

2nd...there have been witnesses that have come forward stating that there was indeed intimidation and racial events taking place that day at that polling location.

Doesn't matter. There's still audio evidence on the very tapes recorded by EJ saying otherwise. The fact that Faux News and everyone else trying to spin the issue blatantly ignore this demonstrates an intentional means to deceive and distort the facts.

If you actually educate yourself of the issue, you will find that this is not a political issue...but a failure of our justice department. This is not about Fox News.

First off, talking about my educated state as if you know something I don't is laughable. Please don't humor yourself with such a shallow comment because the audio of the woman stating that the two men didn't do anything wrong on the second video would be more than apparent to provide reasonable doubt to any bigoted claims brought about by the people videotaping the so-called incident. End of story. Also, this does involve Faux News because their political pundits are the only ones trying to make this an issue over a year after the charges were dropped.

You are right on one point though...people won't forget this massive level of corruption in 2012...and Obama's "4-year too long" presidency will come to an end.

Keep thinking that. Really. Make everyone's life easier and think these fallacious crap. From my standpoint, Republicans and Tea Partiers have ruined their chances from getting any real support from minorities in this country. And if 2008 was any clue, you need some substantial minority support to win a presidential election. When it boils down to it, every politician is "corrupt" to some degree... but not every single one of them are that brazen to admit their bigotry on various issues. That's where the opposition have continually fucked up.

...I was silly enough to believe what a politician had to say...
some day you may begin to realize that the powers behind the scenes give us this hope regularly, only to see things continue to go in the same direction. one party gives us more fascism and the other gives us more socialism. so, there is always evidence that the other party are criminals. the federal reserve bank must go, that is one of the places they get the money to undermine the country. start there to understand who really controls the world. and of course, drugs and oil....

When you stand outside a polling place, brandishing weapons, and saying things like..."Now you'll see what it's like to be ruled by the black man, cracker"...and called people "white devils", AND they tried to stop people from entering the pools.

Plus...just because some ignorant person says they were not doing anything wrong, that does not trump the actual voters that were intimated. And the FEDERAL LAW basically says that you as a legal citizen should be able to go vote without people standing with weapons and yelling racial slurs at you.

Doesn't matter. There's still audio evidence on the very tapes recorded by EJ saying otherwise. The fact that Faux News and everyone else trying to spin the issue blatantly ignore this demonstrates an intentional means to deceive and distort the facts.

Show me any example of Fox News, or the former DOJ lawyer they interviewed, where they distorted the facts....

You just proved your "educated state". You are asserting that because one woman claimed they were doing nothing wrong...that completely nullifies the ACTUAL people who were intimidated.

End of story. Also, this does involve Faux News because their political pundits are the only ones trying to make this an issue over a year after the charges were dropped.

Well...YEAH! Here you have nothing short of a slam dunk conviction on voter intimidation...with the P-BO administration pursuing the case, winning a default judgment because the Panthers didn't show up to court. And then, out of the blue, it's dropped. But that's not news...Lindsy Lohan going to jail is breaking news on MSNBC...but blatant corruption by the DOJ isn't even covered.

See, it all comes back to race with the left.

The Tea Party hasn't ruined anything...

National (US) Poll * July 21, 2010 * Obama Approval Drops To Lowest - Quinnipiac University – Hamden, Connecticut

Right Direction or Wrong Track - Rasmussen Reports

Health Care Law - Rasmussen Reports

56% Oppose Justice Department Challenge of Arizona Law; 61% Favor Similar Law In Their State - Rasmussen Reports

75% Are Angry At Government

The evidence is there...America does not like P-BO or his policies. And dumb, knee jerk events like Firing Shirley Sherrod or dropping the DOJ case. Add to that the massive debt that keeps swelling, the misguided healthcare law, the frivilos case against Arizona...he is aleniating the very people who mistakenly voted him in.

Need to put in so-so rating not just love him or hate him. I think he's doing all that he can and what he thinks is right for the country...like Bush did. They're all politicians, so bullshit is the name of the game but I don't beleive that Obama or Bush wants to ruin the USA, outright at least. It's a balance of good and bad. Like pretty much anything in life.

I think President Obama under the circumstances of what he had to take on upon becoming president ie 2 wars, a recesssion, record numbers of housing foreclousures, wallstreet in shambles and numerous other things he's been outstanding. I'd vote for him again tomorrow if i could.

Ditto.
