Seeking inspirational stories from guys who have improved their blood pressure and therefore their health and therefore their erection quality by dropping weight, curtailing or quitting booze, doubling down on exercise, etc. At 55, things are just OK but my cock is not as responsive as it used to be. Yes you can pop pills but who likes the side effects? Even half a viagara is not that effective any more.

I wake up every day hard as a rock, perfect in my mind, but situationally it takes work to get moderately hard. I used to blame it on my size as there is a lot of volume to fill up with blood but the reality is that it's the guy in the mirror's fault. I need to drop 30 pounds, I need to do real cardio at least four times a week and not "check the box" cardio, and I need to fall out of love with bourbon. Hey, I need to drop the pounds too but I do a lot of cardio and it’s had an efffect. It does take me a while to get started but when I do I’m rock hard. I have to be I have an age inappropriate girl friend…. Lol. i can’t fuck like I used to but that jackhammering was selfish.

I do plan to get my T checked. And I give up booze for Lent every year and I am going to "quit" earlier this year, like this week even, so I will report back in later this spring. I plan to make it a challenge of sorts, writing down my starting weight, blood pressure, resting heart rate. All quantitative stuff. My erection strength and responsiveness will have to be a qualitative assessment. I am hoping I have a great story in the end and that even a slight breeze will give me a stiffy. Ha!

I've been going to the gym for over 2 year after not being a gym goer or fitness person for many decades. I am technically obese, but the 2-3 times a week I've spent doing some weight lifting and cardio has definitely had a positive impact on my erection quality and of course my sex life.

As for ED drugs, I've used a low dose (5mg) of Tadalafil (Cialis) as its effect lasts for 36 or more hours on an as-needed basis. The impact of exercise on my sex life is that my ability to get hard fast and my endurance is better. Greater strength also help with shifting positions and being able to sustain whatever I'm doing that iis giving my wife the most pleasure.

I have been exercising now for 3 years. I started out the first year poorly only doing it 3 times a week, cardio. Second year I went for 4 days a week and now I’m doing it 5 days a week and I vary it from jogging, to a fast pace walk and using an elliptical machine. Changing it up and working different leg muscles. It seems to be making a difference but it didn’t happen overnight for me. On a side note, I’d have been taking a mushroom supplement recently and something feels different. I seem to feel more of a tingle in my crotch more often and erections seem more solid. I have no clue if it is the supplement but I am going to continue with it and the exercise. I also added in two days of weightlifting. Nothing crazy bicep and shoulders.
