I'm in NY until July! But if you are a burglar I'm really in Hawaii with my meat stared attack dog!

Oh good! Then there's no need to buy plane tickets! I'll be there, with an empty stomach! D'ya mind if i bring the hubby along? Oh, and what's for dinner?

Sounds good. We are having individual Beef Wellington, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, Belgian endive salad with blue cheese and won tons. The dress is Cap d'Antibes summer casual. Drinks are at 7:00 and dinner is served exactly at eight! Come hungry, leave happy!

You won't mind, will you, if I pass on the Beef Wellington? I'm sure it's delicious, but I'm one of those pesky vegetarians. The asparagus will definitely tide me over until desert! Do you make your own hollandaise (do I have to ask? the store-bought crap is just that - crap)? I'm not sure what Cap d'Antibes is. Would you mind if we just stripped down to our skivvies upon entering the door?

That's fine too. But a quick read of Tender Is The Night would help you with an alternative wardrobe choice. In terms of the vegetarian issue I'm serving crab legs as an appetizer so maybe that will help as well.
Oh and to answer you hollandaise question... nothing at my table comes out of a can, box or bottle. (I even make my own mayo)

For the lazy people, Marie Callender's Razzleberry Pie is one of the best frozen desserts. All my friends love it.

I'm not certain what Mrs. Callender puts in her pies but they are damned good. I think my fav was their turtle pie. But since going organic we've been replicating it at home... Much more fun!!

Mmmmmm... I have not made one of those in a long time!

1 cup pecans
1 (9 inch) pie shell, baked (I have the recipe in the recipe thread under Lemon Meringue Pie)
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
1/4 cup corn syrup
2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter
1 egg yolk
3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk

Place pecans into bottom of pie shell.
To Make Filling: In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, cook condensed milk, brown sugar, butter and corn syrup. Stir and bring to a boil; stir continuously for at least 5 minutes. Remove from heat, then slowly beat with a spoon until mixture starts to thicken; will take about 2 minutes. Be sure not to over beat or it will harden too much. Pour mixture into pie shell; cover and refrigerate for about an hour. Filling ingredients may be halved to make for a less rich pie.
To Make Topping: In a medium saucepan, cook chocolate and butter over low heat until melted together. Stir in condensed milk; mix well. Remove from heat; allow to cool just enough so that yolk won't cook when added, but not so cool that the chocolate hardens; cooling time will be about 3 minutes. Stir in egg yolk to chocolate mixture; spread over cooled filling. Place pie back in refrigerator and cool for another hour.

Does anybody have any cake? White chocolate with dark chocolate ganache filling and chocolate mousse frosting would be perfect.

But I'm not picky. A sweet potato cheesecake with toasted pecan crust, vanilla cream icing, and caramel icing would do in a pinch.

If things get really desperate, I could settle for Madagascar vanilla gelatto with triple dark chocolate (90% cacao, please - fair-trade Java, of course) cookie dough.
I have trifle.

Not a fan of trifle. It's a bit too airy/mushy for me. The texture is just a bit off somehow.

Plastic-chocolate donuts? And that's edible? I think not.

plastic-chocolate is uber-edible. is delish.

the only draw back is plastic-chocolate melts fast. there is no "perfect crime" if someone was trying to eat the last of their Elmo's plastic-chocolate donuts... no chance of not leaving finger prints.

on the high-end of a sugar-rush... i have a génoise 7 layer cake with alternating natural preserve filling (raspberry & blackberry), topped with a coconut butter cream.

i think i still have a piece of bebinca in the refrigerator. i'd need to warm the fig compote before serving.

Two things I can`t buy where I live, and tbh, I don`t know if I can get them anywhere in my country -PECANS and PIGNOLI! And I really want to make some good pest! Last time I had Pignoli, my friend bought me some in Italy.

I am at this moment in my life totally addicted to chocolate. Weird moments creep up when I just totally crave it, need it, have to put on my jacket and go outside to buy some. Especially the Ferrero Rocher. I hear Mr. Rocher, the chocolatier, is one of the richest, if not the richest man in Italy. His creamy, nutty hazelnut chocolates are so fine and the Godiva carrot cake truffles are sin to my soul.

Then:
Hersey's cookies and cream bar
Fig Newtons
Sour gummy rainbow worms
Pralines and cream ice cream

I was actually thinking of starting a thread on this: list your favorite candy...
