It's self measured, so you can take some of it with a pinch of salt, but the one stat that stood out for me was that half of men have an erect girth of less than 5 inches (5.1 on the survey, but factor in a little exaggeration).

Are you surprised by this?

Or does it just confirm why women say that girth is the big deal?

That survey has been around for a while, so I don't know if it's been updated. It's an interesting survey, although I think the sample of men isn't large enough to really correlate much. Just over 2500 men I think. As with this site, there is a tendency for some guys to overestimate, lie, exaggerate, underestimate, or measure incorrectly, making such survey not exactly scientific. When added with all the others polls or surveys though, I guess some correlations can be made.

Self-reporting dick-size surveys are meaningless. Everyone inflates, to differing degrees. Some guys will round up to the nearest quarter inch, some guys will add a full inch.

It's like doing a self-reporting study on people's IQ. I'm sure the "average" reported would be FAR above average.

Actual research studies (not self-reported) have put average erect girth at only about 4.5" to 4.8", so it's not especially surprising that even in a self-reported survey, half were under 5".

I took that suvey many years ago and I think there are a bunch of new questions on there now. My base girth is 6", but I've never considered that to be my actual measured girth. That would be 5.5" right behind my glans. I guess to me what counts is what the woman actually feels inside her.

That's the problem right there. You may feel a compulsion to be as honest and modest as possible, but for every guy like your there are ten others measuring their length from their asshole and the girth of their base+balls.

I would give this survey as much credibility as I would listening to two dudes talking about what they lift; it might be true, but they always err on the side that suits them best.

Come on, let's not be naive, people lie to themselves and to the world all the time. The guy who's 5.5" will round up to 6". This is why my post said "to varying degrees." There will be a (very) few who are completely honest with themselves and the world. A far, far greater majority will boost their stats. Some will joke and put down 12".. you'll notice the guy only tossed out the ones above 14".. meaning there were some reported that length, meaning there were some liars. The dudes who lied and put down 13" as a joke are included in the stats! Ridiculous.

I knew a friend of mine who always answered the US Census surveys as a black jew. He wasn't even close, but he was having a laugh. Unless this study can correct for the natural bullshit that's inherent in every self-reported study, as the census TRIES to, then it's worthless.

exactly. Studies based on self-reporting numbers, whether it's weight, dick size, IQ, number of sexual partners, books you've read in the past year, number of hours spent watching TV, whaaaaatever..... are worthless unless you can correct for the number of people bullshitting the survey. There are methods of doing this but it's complex and not always accurate, and requires correlating surveys that are NOT based on self-reporting.

I think between 4 and 5 of girth is very regular ,but does pump can help ?? to increase girth the problem should be later to fill the whole penis , the force and presure of the blood .
Of course are men of 6 o more inches girth , but most of them are in the porno industry movie now , and many others haven´t such contact or opportunity and are around different spot

Don't get me wrong, I don't see the point either, but I just learned to accept that people do.

Exaggeration aside, because that would inflate the girth measurement, most men have less than 5 inches girth.

I am just asking the women whether this is their experience, I suppose it must be.

I think that most guys average around 4-5" in girth. That is why a guy with a 7" long penis and a 4.5" girth tends to look longer than a dude that is is 8" x 6."

No I'm not surprised I looked it up all the legit studies say avg thickness is 4.5. Honestly I think you hear a lot of made up numbers on this site and people dont know how big sizes really are so yeah Im not surprised.
