Like it has been said by many other people on this thread, Obama had an open forum with Republicans on the subject of Health Care. What you probably couldn't tell by that sample (which you refer to as a soundbite), the forum was televised and lasted for more than an hour. And if you're not from the US, then it's not as if the forum wasn't shown on CNN International in its entirety so no excuses. Look it up.
Perhaps if you knew what the f*** you were talking about then perhaps we could look at what you're saying to be a critique. Right now, you're doing what you do best... talk out of your ass.
Which is much to be said of our previous president who had "town halls" that were so pre-structured that they programmed their guests to ask them predetermined questions. Then again, you and the rest of the morons have been pushing this teleprompter thing as if it's really an issue. It's really sad when this is the best you can come up with. It was a Q&A, so no teleprompter with predetermined text couldn't have helped him since he wouldn't have any idea how questions were going to be asked.

Obama's done plenty of press conferences, and press interviews, and town hall meetings, and does very well at answering the questions. He's very effective in these off the cuff type situations. Impossible to "script" such spontaneous interchanges.
As to statements and speeches (prepared remarks), every modern President has used a teleprompter. Republicans (Ford, Reagan, GHW Bush, GW Bush) as well as Democrats.
Bitching that somebody uses a teleprompter to give a statement/speech is like bitching that somebody uses A MICROPHONE when they give speeches. Or any other modern technology. This isn't 1923, it is 2010.
People who make these arguments need to think them through, they are illogical and in the end pretty silly. The worst is to see Fox Opinion commentators make these arguments, while they are reading off of a teleprompter.

I'm sure that it will come as no surprise that I was raised, and to an extent still am ( I guess?) Conservative. Although less and less lately.
However, there is no f'n way that anyone could consider Obama "not intelligent". I think in the big picture, he has done as well as anyone could in his circumstance, and will probably vote for him if he runs again.
I still stand by my belief that when either side resorts to personal attacks on unimportant issues, then the target must not be doing too bad, or that would be the focus :smile:
