I don't know whether to laugh or cry for this poor guy. This really sucks to be him.
Speed Violation Nets $279,000 Cash
SEATTLE -- A trooper seized $279,000 in cash last weekend after pulling over a driver who said he had won the money at casinos, the State Patrol said.
The trooper stopped a 2003 Honda Accord on Interstate 5 near Northgate Mall for a speeding violation. The driver, a 35-year-old man from Delta, British Columbia, had conflicting stories about where he was going and how long he had been in the state, troopers said.
The man let the trooper search his car, and the trooper found a suitcase with $279,640 in U.S. bills, the State Patrol said.
The man said he had won the money at 23 casinos in Washington, Nevada and California, but did not keep receipts.
The currency was confiscated for further investigation.
