Im 6'5" and trying to get my butt to stand out more
Good luck. I started a similar thread about a week ago, as my ass is flat.
Even worse, I'm a personal trainer. There were several suggestions re: exercises, etc. Believe me, I tried all of them including routines at Men's Fitness and other sites over the past year. Nothing seems to work and I dislike the idea of wearing padded briefs like the ones Undergear sells, cause the commando bulge is more important to me.
I have the opposite problem, trying to slim my ass down. Any ideas?
Two words for you - buttock implants
deep squats, leg curls and stiff legged deadlifts
My wife wants my ass to look like Mr. Darcy's butt from Pride and Prejudice (the Colin Firth version). She says that women in that period looked at a guys thighs and butt which were developed from riding.
So, to meet here expectations I work my legs and ass on a regular basis and found this site that addressed my needs ExRx (Exercise Prescription) on the Net
On the main page, under the category hips I found a section for the Gluteus Maximus that listed a number of different exercises to work this area.
I wonder if simple toning exercises may do the trick. I teach yoga and it seems that from all of those years of teaching my butt is well developed.
One thing to consider when working on the butt is not only development of Gluteus Maximus, but also the Gluteus Minimus, Medius, and Deep Lateral Rotators since their development may help push out Maximus. And, don't forget to stretch after strengthening.

And I second horseback riding. English saddle will rapidly develop your posterior and you might have fun doing it.
Squats, heavy weight, low reps, negatives if possible. You'll grow.

We need a national movement to combat buttlessness among American men. The problem is clearly an epidemic.
It's an odd thing: I am not turned on by the sight of a well-shaped backside on a man, but I am repelled by the sight of a badly shaped one, at least if I see the guy naked or in underpants, as in the locker room at the gym. There is one guy there whose body is positively stupid-looking, as if designed by a incompetent sub-deity: long legs with a bean-shaped torso atop them like some kind of pod; what should be the "small" of the back filled in with fat, and a butt of such miserable proportions that his briefs are baggy in back. I see this guy working out regularly, so maybe he is just a case of really bad genetic luck.
Yes and buttlessness, love that word, gets worse with age so, start working on it now guys.
