Well Debbie Reynolds had a vision, I remember when they were auctioning the sets and costumes and props at MGM and I thought to myself "Who in the hell would want this old crap?" I still don't want any of it but would you be willing to pay a millions dollars for Marilyn or Judy's old costumes?
If so what would you most like to have from a move and why? How much would you be willing to pay for it?

You would think that the Smithsonian would jump at the chance for these iconiic pieces. It's too bad Debbie Reynold's dream could not happen.

Price =/= value for these things, I think.

One the one hand, good for Debbie that she had the foresight to buy low and sell so very high. On the other hand, if she wanted these things placed in museum collections, she could have found a way to do so (albeit with a smaller profit motive) rather than a huge public auction with such astonishing minimum bids.

If I had the means, though, Elizabeth Taylor's headdress from Cleopatra would make a great curio :biggrin1:

It is so strange the Debbies museum failed. You'd think this would have been high on tourists must see list. It's too bad but she'll make a mint. It was a valiant effort!
