I saw Boogie Nights. But it's not quite indicitive of the porn industry as a whole. It was dramatized and focused on a specific group of people in a time when porn was still not quite legal and if you recall most of America was a morass of drug abuse and irresponsible choices in that era. I find things like the E True Hollywood Stories of recent porn stars and extensive behind the scenes footage from porn shoots to be more relevantly informative.

I think there's a higher risk of getting caught up in drugs, HIV, and sickos just living where I live than in the porn industry.

My mother already does more than enough things to have completely lost my respect.

I don't plan on having kids. Even so, if I did and they found out I'd done porn, I wouldn't really be embarrassed or ashamed but I would do whatever I could to minimize the psychological scarring I'm sure it would cause them.

I'm not trying to shoot down what you said. They're all valid points and good advice. I'm just letting you know that I have actually put some thought into it and considered these things.

That largely due to the age of porn stars. Most porn stars are only in the industry from their late teens/early twenties until their thirties MAYBE. If somebody dies in that age range it's usually due to drugs, AIDS, suicide, or accidents. It's probably not to far from the national statistics on 20-something deaths regardless of profession.

i think if you are willing to accutally go into porn you realize you will be looked down upon by alot of people

For the record, I considered going into porn myself and I decided the juice wasn;t worth the squeeze. If I ever got successful in that field, I'd be too easily remembered in it.
