I have a male friend (sometimes lover) who often, REALLY often actually, says he craves cuddles.

I don't think it's at all an exclusively female thing, everyone likes to feel safe, nurtured and loved sometimes.

Cuddling is great!!!

I'm a guy. Yes, a gay guy--so you can make your value judgements now--hurry, the clock is ticking, and the sale ends Saturday.. . Personally, if I had to make a choice between giving up sex without intimacy, and cuddling with the emotional intimacy, for me it is a no brainer--I'll take the cuddling everytime. Because it fullfills me emotionally, and gives me as much or more of a feeling of being loved and wanted than sex often does. Granted, that doesn;t say much about my sex life, but there you have it.

I'd never cuddle with a man.

I'm straight as an arrow.

Oh roosevelt! A holding a man won't turn you gay.

You shouldn't believe all the silly nonsense that mumsy said. All of her parenting knowledge came out of The Demented Homophobes Guide for Raising Drunken Midgets.

Can I hold you now? Waits eagerly for a response.

He is totally a gay-mo:tongue:

see, this is totally a north american thing. men are not supposed to touch another friend's shoulder, thigh, any part of the body in any way. otherwise you may be judged homosexual. unless you are in a physical activity, which body contacts are inevitable.

in europe, males friends can get very physically close without being judged gay.

Ole Jeffie was being sarcastic. The correct answer is "Yo' mama's totally a gay-mo!"

I love to cuddle. And you straight guys into your stick figure woman, that's not cuddling, because you have nothing to cuddle into! A woman with a womanly figure and a full body is a wonderful thing to hold close to. It's great!

Well, I do hug my male friends at times, but I don't have any desire to cuddle with them

cuddling my gf is a gloriously comforting and sexy way to express and reinforce our togetherness. whilst it may not be as intense as sex, it does have the merit of being less likely to get us thrown out of the restaurant.

I would think he's gay, or he's desperate for affection (like me)

Something is wrong with this picture, if people might actually venture, that if a man likes to snuggle he might be gay or starved for affection. What the hell is wrong with snuggling someone of the opposites sex. Hell, for that matter what the hell is wrong with snuggling anyone, nothing. Of course if you do snuggle someone of the same sex, I think you might have some homosexual tendencies, but that still doesn't make you gay. On the other hand if you just like to snuggle the opposite sex how does that make you gay in anyway, whether it was dominant snuggle or a submissive snuggle (it's silly that one needs to even classify it as such).

I find it strange, that in the States, alot of men see any kind of sensitive show of affection as either a secret to be kept between a woman or a man, or a breach into the realm of Gaydom.

The weird part is that I am talking from the Arab world currently, and here the Macho culture does not look kindly on a man that is too effectionate in public. However privately it is natural that once he is with his family in the privacy of his home he can be as cuddly as he wants and that is not considered gay in anyway. On the other hand, somehow such an open culture like the US doesn't allow for that subconciously.

I remember that when I was in college, I used to hear from my American friends, that two guys who knew each other wouldn't want to sit beside each other in the movie theatre. What is that about!?

Well for my vote. Snuggle away. Snuggle a little, alot, in public, in secret. I'm an avid snuggler. Anyway, why wouldn't I want to do it. It always gives me a hard on which I get to use sooner or later.

I love cuddling and if my partner didn't like it, I would think that there was something wrong with him. It's very comforting to be wrapped-up in someones arms -- and sometimes it leads to other things.......

I was talking to some American guys on the weekend about this subject -- American guys not showing affection or not standing really close to each other. I was quite surprised. In the Antipodes it's not a big deal. In Asia male friends hold hands -- now that's a bit much for me.

I am the first and only person in this thread to ask to hold you roosevelt. Now you have created an imaginary line before me.
