I left my job of 10 years and start a new one Monday. Same career (banking) but further up the totem pole.

It's one of those things where if I stayed it would be a mistake and if I left I would feel it's a mistake (lots of changes at the old place made for a toxic environment). But it's done and a new chapter awaits.

Probably not what you usually see here, but can I ask the ladies to wish me good luck?

Bonne chance! Learn the office politics as quickly as possible. Respect others food in the fridge. Make coffee if you take the last cup. Never ask your secretary to bring you coffee. Offer them coffee instead. Mucho brownie points!

Be a nice banker. I hate dealing with the banks, but I love my banker. He bends over backwards for me, figuratively speaking of course.

You got this, Sancho! And say hi to San Antonio for me! I love that town!

Great tips from all the ladies. Especially Ellie. Never ask someone to do something for you if you can do it yourself and learn all the things! Banks are great places for advancement if you 1. Have educational qualifications 2. Are A team player with a positive attitude and 3. Learn ALL the things.

Best to you and your new co workers.

Thanks!

I've been doing it a long time (14 years - I was a career changer) and have the education. I've been a lender for all that time, and I'll be the area president where I'm going. I left the old place when the team spirit disappeared and everyone felt threatened by the new leadership.

There is no "I" in team, but I learned there is a "me" unfortunately .

I spent all day doing mandatory online trainings. I had 17 to do and I'm down to 7.

I took these same trainings last month at the old place!

It's different, but in a good way I think. Making the personalities get along at my location will be my biggest hurdle. It's a smaller bank than I'm used to, and I'm used to doing bigger deals than I may see here, but all in all a good day.

Thanks for checking on me!
