Believe it or not, Rosemary's Baby. It is one of the most perfectly crafted adaptations of a book I've ever seen. You can almost follow the book as you watch. The brilliant story telling never lets a viewer learn anything that Rosemary doesn't know. We see the story through her eyes and ears. It doesn't need gore and jolting scares to work. It is set completely in reality with the exception of the Satanic cult next door. Great cast too. Ruth Gordon is hilarious as the next door neighbour and wife of the cult leader. Mia Farrow as Rosemary is perfectly cast.
Chicago would be a fun one too!
