If you vote by electronic machine, triple check the selections before casting.

Hearing lots of anecdotal complaints about the voting machines like this one: LeAhhhhhh! McElrath on Twitter

Do not trust these machines even if you select a straight ticket option. Look over the selections and then look them over again. We've got some real squirreliness going on in TX.

Secretary of state is blaming it all on voter error, so just be extra careful out there cuz no one else but you is going to ensure that your selections are correct.

Texas voting machines changing some straight-party selections

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) --
Voters are reporting odd problems on both the Republican and Democratic side of straight-party voting in Texas.

Mickey Blake was one of the voters in those early voting lines in Houston earlier this week.

"I hit straight Democratic ticket," Blake said.

She says she expected all Democrats to come up on her screen, especially Rep. Beto O'Rourke, but when she got to the last screen to review her choices, she noticed a problem.

"It's all Democratic except for Ted Cruz was checked," Blake said.

So she backed up and did it again. And again.

Paper ballot and pens here. I voted straight Democratic, but the old-fashioned way, candidate by candidate.

Of course, now that I've voted early, if over the next few days it turns out the Republicans really *are* the kinder, gentler, more caring party who truly have my best interests at heart, I'm screwed.

Oh well.

Every year I just get more and more cynical about the system and the American people.

This should be a huge deal. But outside of a few pockets here and there, no one really cares. No one cares.

That doesn't appear to be what all the polling data says. What numbers are you going by?

People are noticing and are fighting back. The GOP did themselves in by making their tactics too visible and trying too hard.

We will see. All this protesting and outrage won't matter if those same people don't vote.
The ones making the noise are the ones who voted or tried to vote and were denied. Noticing that your vote changed means you voted. Going to the polling place and being turned away means you have the intention of voting. Filling out an absentee ballot means you voted.

Decreasing turnout helps one party in particular so that's why they're working so hard to do so.

In the future there will be a choice of 2 things.

Technology or Humanity.

I'm guessing the latter will win, simply because Humanity is cheaper than Technology....and while not 100% reliable....The pool boy will still turn up to clean the pool with his digital pole....

I truly wish society would not get so caught up with digital bullshit. Just take a little time to brush up on the basics.

Oregon also votes by paper ballot. Results are not tallied by voting-booth-machine totals.
