I chose NOT to have my son cut. I found no compelling medical argument to do it. My parents were NOT happy with my decision and offered to pay for him to be cut after he was born. That was just crazy! The pressed me and pressed me to do the “Right” thing. Well I did!

I have no idea how my son feels about it. I know that most or all the other guys in school are cut but if he finds he does not like it at least he has a choice. It’s his body

When I was doing my research as to why the US started do circumcision on a routine basis, I found out that the main reason was to stop boys from masturbating! OH YEA LIKE THAT WILL WORK!

I hope that fathers out there think long and hard before they cut their sons. Mother nature puts things there for a reason, I don’t think man is improving things buy cutting off a healthy part of the human body.

Great that you had the guts and the wits about it!!
- - -

Mothers have too much influence over this matter,,, there's a level of (subconscious?) control over the man (MEN, the gender) about it.

Sexuality is a wild force. The church has always tried to cash on the control of this force, by trying to limit sex within the boundaries of marriage, for which the church then grants license. Cutting boys dicks is another way to try to control.

Cheers, FinnMan (all uncut in my family) and very happy about having skin

The reason to do the circumcision at birth is that it is much simpler, heals faster and also easier ti ger the right result because the baby grows out of any excess skin wit each growth spurt.

When done as adult, if they don't cut enough skin, you're stuck with it.

At the end of the day, if parents feel circumcision is better, why shouldn't they have the right to imporve their baby boy to fit their opinion of how they want their boy to be ? Parents do a lot of "shaping" of their children at many many levels.

Because it's not their penis? If you follow this logic then the woman who gives her eight year old daughter botox is 100% correct.

I saw it on the news here yesterday, but this is the first link that popped up:

I give my girl, 8, Botox for pageant | The Sun |Woman

What the fuck is wrong with people?

Well, why not have it cut off the baby? After all, the foreskin has only one purpose, good sex, and what parent cares about that for their child?

I don`t plan on ever having any children of my own, but if I were to have a son one day I would leave him intact. If he wants to get circumcised he can make that decision for himself as an adult, I won`t be the one to make that decision for him.

I had both my boys cut. I'm cut. My wife and I discussed it at length, and came to the conclusion that we wanted them to be cut. For both aesthetic and hygienic reasons. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right decision. But knowing my children's personalities now, I think we did the right thing.

what do you mean by "knowing my children's personalities now, I think we did the right thing"?

what does a kids personality have to do with whether or not he should be cut or not?

I am a bit neutral on a son getting snipped at birth. It would depend on the wife, and more importantly on the environment. Here, in Québec, vast majority is now uncut, so leaving son uncut would not make him "different". But if I were to move to the USA, circumcision would be preferable.

It would also depend on his foreskin length. If he inherited my original extra long foreskin, I would be very tempted he have a partial circ at birth.

If left uncut at birth, I would definitely have a chat with him before puberty to make the circumcision sales pitch though.

Why the different thought process depending on geographical region?.. the penis and its foreskin have the same function no matter where the kid lives, and as people move around more than they use to, theres no saying that he will always either live in only canada or only the usa.

Both my older brother and I are cut, one of my close friends, my father and two younger brothers are uncut. I like the fact that I am cut but do like the appearance of uncut people as well.

I understand that people don't think that there is medical or social reasons now its just for looks.. I will say this... out of all the penises i have seen of people around my age A LOT of them are cut, leave it up to an AGREEMENT between parents and if the kid is left uncut then give them the choice when they are older to have it cut or leave it.

Any idea why you and your older brother were cut event hough your father isn't? and why they decided to leave your younger brothers uncut?

Leave him be. As he grows up give him the unbiased facts from both sides and then let him decide whether he wants to be cut or uncut. Better to have the choice, than to have the decision forced onto you - it is relatively straightforward to remove the foreskin, but impossible to put it back afterward.

If a parent is of the opinion that private education is superiod to public education, does anyone debate the parent's right to choose ?

If a parent is of the opinion that circumcised penis is superiod to uncircumcised one, shouldn't they be able to give their son a superior penis ?

The issue here is that circumcision at birth is simpler, faster, heals very fast , not remembered and feels perfectly natural to the boy until he is assaulted by the anti circ movement who tell him he's been mutilated.

By doing it at birth, you may be depriving him of a choice later in life, but he starts off life with a superior penis (in the parent's opinion) and won't ever have to worry about getting circumcised.

If circumcision were as easy/fast/simpe at any age, then the issue of baby circs would have far less traction. Baby circs are an issue because it is easier to circumcise at birth rather than later so there is an advantage to doing it at birth versus later.

If I were to have a child (unlikely at my age) I would not circ. I do not agree with extremist viewpoints on either side. My reason is that in most cases it is not medically necessary and is a cash cow for crooked MD's. If you want to get a circ, the MD should be checked out very thoroughly.

I was circ'd and it was done badly at a time when virtually all males were being circ'd. My parents were NOT asked they just did it without permission and handed my Dad a $400 bill for their services. This is often the case.

I am 100% for it if there is medical need for it. I am 100% against it when it is turned in to a cash cow and when parents are given false information to sell the procedure as a profit maker. It is a definite choice. I wish that I had been asked. I have had many problems because mine was butchered leaving some scar tissue behind.

I would have him stay natural though i am circumcised. I wish my parents didn't have me cut. My friend said he pretty much doesn't need lube for sex or when jerking off. I just wonder what my dick would look and feel like with the extra skin. I'm still happy with how my dick looks :D
