Was lazy today and had about 3 loads of laundry that needed done. Just was not feeling it at all. Figured it would take me 3-4 hours to get it all finished.

By the time that was done, I would not have the energy to cook a big pot of chicken and noodles, for tonight and lunches at work next week. (I like left-overs) So I had to make a choice. Eating out on the cheap normally runs $10.00 per meal. Plus I had already bought a cooked chicken from Sam's Club yesterday.

So I decided to try the "wash and fold" local joint. Never go there except to wash large blankets and such. Guessed it would cost me $25-30 and would never do it again. The young gal (who happens to play flute with my Granddaughter in a band) says it will be done in 2 1/2 hours for pickup.

The bill was $11.00 plus .75 in tax. $11.75 total for my weeks clothes and bedding! I flipped her $15.00 and said thanks, see you next weekend! Had no idea it would be that inexpensive.

Anyone needing a used washing machine and dryer? LOL

I keep thinking about doing this for my office sheets and my work clothing. It is by weight here, and I invested in lightweight sheets.
Id still provide the detergent, as I have to keep scent free and as “green” as possible.
You got a killer deal. Here, it starts at $15 per laundry bag, which, yes, is about three loads in my own machine.

We don't have a service like that where I live, just a regular old-school laundromat. Clothes get stolen if you don't sit there with them as they wash.

I'm very grateful for my washing machine and dryer. Not to say I wouldn't utilize a Wash-n-Fold service.. but I have no access. So, it's all home washing..All the laundry, Every time.

When I'm doing our laundry, I'm also multi-tasking.

I'm able to cook, clean and do a lot of other stuff while the laundry washes and dries.

Once each load comes out of the dryer, I fold it or hang it up and put it away.

I've even managed to mod at LPSG while laundry is going. :innocent:

The guy that owns Levi's recommends that you put your jeans in the freezer for a few nights, then just shake them out. On the flipside, Marylin Monroe would keep her denim slightly damp so it clung to her curves better.

I get heaps of chemicals on my clothes at work, so I tend to not care about their condition too much, but my partner is a professional. I 'accidently' stuffed up the washing a few times, and now I don't have to do washing anymore either. :p

Anybody that want's a 65 year old man's skidded up undershorts, is free for the taking! Never had a theft here.

Whatever they used for soap and dryer sheet's smelled good.

I'm not too worried about going green, as long as I'm one the top side of green and not underneath! :innocent:

So, as an experiment, I put all my sheets in the bag, folded. I know folded is much smaller than loose. Taking that into consideration, I did not fill a laundry bag.
So, my own machines it is for now.
Should I ever move where I must babysit the machines in public, I’ll do drop off.

Yup.. my days off it's loud music and multi-tasking cleaning sprees. Every week.

The denim of Marilyn’s day, and even my youth, was superior to the stretch fabric of today.
Today’s is a bit cooler in summer, but it is flimsy.

what I’d give for button fly, real denim, in measurements that shrink to fit me.
