Tone, especially sarcasm, I can usually pick up on when spoken; however, it's not always easy for me to discern from written words. So, when unsure, I usually give the benefit of doubt to the poster IF I am familiar with his/her posting history. I took Twoton's post to be sarcastic as he described. Not so sure about the clever part, though...

A long time ago there was a rumor that sarcasm would be indicated by italic green font, decided by concensus. I've used it on occasion, but it's so rare that I don't think anyone would recognize it for what it is.

Just to be clear, I do not, nor have I ever, supported Trump. However, I submit that every once in a while he's not entirely wrong. Of course, then he barfs all over everything and covers it all with a stinking mess.
