A bit disappointed in that comment...though you were one of the more intelligent guys on this site:mad:

I'm glad you picked up on this too, Big en. I'm amazed that nobody else has! Even though I've never been under any illusion that ScaredLittleBoy is one of the more intelligent posters on this board, this post of his has to be one of the most insulting I've read today, and God knows, there's been plenty of them! :frown1:

Hmm. . . watched the video and all I could think of was: 1. a whilte South African rantinig about gays? 2. Replace gays and queens with blacks and Uncle Toms and the rant would be basically the same.

"I don't know what's the problem with these Jim Crow laws. They ensure the blacks and whites are separate, but equal. What's the big fuss all about? I just don't understand it." Yaddah, yaddah, yaddah . . . .

By the way. Anyone on LPSG been "fucked up the ass" so much you have to wear a Kotex to keep from leaking? This guy is definitely living in his own little sexual apartheid (sp?).

I don't hate queens. I don't hate them at all. Some guys hate them because they probably dissed them first and act like they aren't supposed to get "read" by them like a NEW YORK TIMES STYLE section. Cause and effect. Respect gets respect. Disrespect will get you the white rabbit down into the rabbit hole WONDERLAND disrespect.

Queens are not whores. Well, not as whorish as Paris Hilton, Britney Spears or Wilt Chamberlin. But hey--this is a new millennium. AIDS is here. So are the other STDs.

And maybe those queens who are flamboyant are trying to be themselves. Maybe they can't be butch.

It tends to be that if you are nelly, queen, effeminant that everybody knows you're "different" from them (ok well different from str8, and let's face it folks most people are str8) and if you associate with the nelly guys then people infer that you are gay. It can be difficult to have the wild nelly queen type as a friend. Because the most effeminant have spent their whole LIFE being openly gay (hey it's obvious right) it's easier to stereotype them. I always thought one guy I knew was gay til I found out he was raised in SF in a household with 6 female relatives (and had various abuse). He just had some feminine mannerisms. Turns out the dude is str8.

There's a scene in one of the Queer as Folk episodes where ted (the nerdy accountant) and emmett (the nelly obvious one) are talking. Ted tells Emmet it was easy for him because everyone knew he was obvious, never had to tell anyone that he was gay.

If it weren't for the gender rebels, men who are gay and effeminant or women who are lesbians and butch, where would gay rights be? You can't help who you are. 60Minutes (TV Newsmagazine in the USA) did a story about gays a few months ago, they had a little boy, 7yo I think, who was femme and you knew he would grow up to be gay, if not transsexual. Loved all the girly things, lace, barbies, clothes. His twin as boy and all boy, GI Joe, firetrucks, airplanes... It just depends on when those hormones (in utero)kick in as to if you're gonna be nelly or butch. The book Brain Sex by Anne Moir (?) had an interesting note in it. About 75% of boys who are "girly boys" grow up to be gay/bi men. Everybody knows XX is girl and XY is boy, except for when you're XO (turner's syndrome) or XXY (Klinefelter's syndrom) or XYY (xyy syndrome) or XXYY or XXX or XYXYXYXYXY(you'd be ok if you were a platypus though :) ) . Gender, sex, and sexuality is a lot more complicated than it used to be.

His rant is against gender nonconformity, which is what the little boy in 60minutes was "diagnosed" as having. He mentions nothing about the Dykes on Bikes, butch women. The feminine men challenge his view of what it is to be a man, so therefore he dislikes. He views queens as needing a tampon because of anal sex because he's narrow minded and a turd. He doesn't know anyone who is str8 and likes anal sex... mmm interview his previous girlfriends :D He assumes that queens have tons of sex. I'm guessing some are monks and some are whores, just like everybody else out there. He's not gay so he doesn't view saying, OH that's so gay! as a slam because it doesn't effect him. If you were to call him a cocksucker that would offend him I bet.

Like Indy said it was the draq queens who got fed up with being harrassed that caused the Stonewall Riots, and the beginning of the modern gay rights movement.

Can we take bets now if he has a child that's a boy he'll be as nelly as they come?

I am, by no means, effeminate.

Not to say that I haven't always not been.

When I was younger, and after having just recently come out of the closet (back when I was 18-20 or so), I was quite effeminate.

I did drag, I sashayed. I had it going on.

I was fully embracing a culture and learning where I fit in.

And then I grew up.

...

Not to say that I still can't whip-snap back a retort or comeback with the best of them any more, it's just that now my sexuality doesn't define me anywhere near as much as it did when I was younger.

At 36, I just happen to be gay, not a gay that just happens.

Does any of that make any sense?

My point was I don't like loud, feminine (gay) men, or loud people in general. Sorry if I offended anyone...

I'm not saying I hate them or that they should die or anything. I just don't think there's any need to start singing Shirley Bassey/Tina Turner songs on top note or screaming like a [bitch] in most situations. Most gays are okay because they don't act like that

Personally, I rather like the queens. They are so over the top!

In a way, they're my braver "sisters."

I exhibit in my gallery, and I sometimes wear trashy clothes just for the shock value, but I am completely unable to do what they do. And when I see it in person or in a movie, I feel like clapping for them.

They have a zest for life that many people seem to be missing.

Oh, and I'm a Bette Middler fan too.

Wow thats a seriously offensive video! That guy has a lot of hate inside of him which is really quite messed up. I dont understand peoples "sissyphobia" in the slightest, if a certain type of person irritates you then dont interact with them.

The guy in the video talks about "queens" being "whores" which is just beyond idiotic, I can comprehend there are people out there who may find the gay lifestyle "not right" but to go to the trouble of recording a video about your dislikes, well thats both sad and upsetting.

On a lighter note, I think I can solve the guy in the videos problems. I think he needs a nice stiff one up his ass!

Call me devil's advocate, but by expressing how he truly feels on a subject and being totally honest with everyone is he now less intelligent than he was before? Because he said something that you did not like?

You can not like something someone says, not agree with the way someone feels, and despise what they do, but you have to respect it, correct? Like you respect a drag queen for being honest with himself.

So why now do you demoralize this guy for speaking his mind and doing the same thing?

At any rate, I didn't watch the video, but I agree and disagree with some of the inferred points.

A person who is an "effeminate" gay person doesn't bother me at all, but a loud, obnoxious, rude, boisterous person is going to be a loud, rude, obnoxious, and boisterous person...queen or not.

I don't feel I should show extra restraint on how I feel about a loud, obnoxious, rude and boisterous person because that person is also gay. I'm going to dislike that type of person. Period.

I'm not even going to delve into the "whore" part of the argument. I don't know everything the video says. Just my two cents on what I pick up, but I'm not sure if I even care to watch it.

I almost enjoy coming out to people who think all gay men 'act like queens'. Just to prove them wrong. I don't enjoy the negative stereotypes, but I view it as my job to overcome them and prove them wrong. The nelly/queen type stand out more and get the attention from the media, etc. Some people unfortunately see only that and think that's what being gay is. When in reality, I'd be willing to bet there are FAR more gay men (not necessarily openly gay) who lean more masculine in their mannerisms.

As far as the 'whore' thing...it's beyond ridiculous. I know straight people who have had hundreds of partners. Conversely, I know a few gay men that haven't had sex in years. A pretty ridiculous video overall.

It's clear from his examples that he's letting both negative and positive stereotypes affect his view of gay people. He sees queens as whores but will then concede that gay poeple have more class based on steroetypical shows like Queer Eye. I don't think he has hate in him so much as he doesn't have any people that truly challenge his definition of gender identity, so he despises queens(even I admittedly cringe when an obvious queen is nearby) likely because he has never known someone personally who fits that definition.

I want to be an undercover gay! It sounds kind of Tom Cruise - Mission Impossible. Who's gonna go undercover with me and the other special agents?

We can use codes to sneak into safehouses and secretly do loads of bum sex until we are forced to conceal the leakage with our prototype anal absorbers. All the while we shall move through the "normals" laughing inside as they are fooled by our perfect masculine performance, not knowing that we have repeatedly had traffic cones up our arses.

Can we have moustaches and hats?

Now aren't you worried that would give us away? Moustaches & hard hats? I've spent all my life perfecting my undercover gay persona so I wouldn't offend anybody else and I'm not going to risk it all with a bit of hair on my top lip! Goddamn, the only reason I have friends is because I'm so not gay!

Wow, what a jumped up little shit with an over inflated sense of self importance that twat in the video is.

Gays are OK as long as they act 100% straight, so others don’t know? Wow, and women should get their arses back in the kitchen and blacks back in the fields I suppose. What an arse.

Personally I find effeminate men a little difficult to deal with, my upbringing I guess, so on that front I understand, but as a gay guy, many of the rights and tolerances in society I enjoy today, I have as a result of the scarifies 'queens' and effeminate openly gay men have made and on that front, i respect them.

Live and let live guys... or is that gals? Oh my, what a bitch, right then, handbags at dawn anyone?
